[m2]Ya but statistically we won each game, the scorboard just didn't indicate it. Also, we beat each of those teams at a different time, in Berkeley[/m2]

feCals Rose Bowl wins are about as meaningful as 7 of Notre Dames and all of Princetons National Titles. Little that happened more than 50 years ago is relevant to the college football landscape now. Teams took trains for 4 days to play a game so nobody traveled much, National Champions were crowned before the Bowl games, the voters never even heard and certainly never saw other teams play.

i can't take my eyes off that epic tilt with Washington and Jefferson in 1919. 0-0.

In case anyone was wondering, the last 0-0 tie in D1(and may be the last ever, with OT now) was in the 1983 Civil War, a game that's been known since then as the "Toilet Bowl."
A horrrrrible Oregon State team, facing off against a horrrrrrible Oregon team, in a horrrrrrrible storm. I forget how many turnovers there were, but I believe it was well into double digits.
What a game.

Dude...I was like 16.
Actually, I've never actually made it into the stadium for the Civil War. Been outside for a couple, but the "meet me in Corvallis, I've got tix for ya" have ever worked out.
No matter, I'm something of a drinker, so the tailgate works for me. That 2000 game where it was like 20 degrees at gametime was a little harsh, but being Mr Smoooove, I found some chicks in an RV...beaverfans, though...but they had booze.

He's just hoping that their woman's volleyball coach is still recruiting her ass off, just in case Carroll decides to take that Arizona job.Believe the Heupel wrote:Shit, no. We're still trying to find someone who thought we were the best team in 1907 so we can claim another national title.

Also, Meds, you forgot the line about you getting your ass kicked. You know, because it happened.

Sorry, but Ralph's Roll Tide website clearly shows that a 3-3-2 Bama team was the best in the land in 1907 and thereby another Bama title.
sin,
Bama Fan.
I would take away all National titles by EVERYONE prior to 1967.Laxplayer wrote:Ok then let's take a look at SC's NC's before 1950. Should we take them away? Asshole.feCals Rose Bowl wins are about as meaningful as 7 of Notre Dames and all of Princetons National Titles
In 1960 Minnesota won the National title and LOST their bowl game
In 1964, Alabama won a National Title and LOST their bowl game
(the Championship was awarded at the end of the regular season prior to 1967)

Can't just start at 1967. Alabama was awarded part of the NC (UPI or AP, can't remember which) in 1973 before the bowl game. ND beat them in the Sugar Bowl, but they still claim that title.SoCalTrjn wrote:I would take away all National titles by EVERYONE prior to 1967.Laxplayer wrote:Ok then let's take a look at SC's NC's before 1950.
