This is a very tough draw for us, Auburn is a greade-A program. But their offense is pretty meh and Callahan/Taylor should bounce back well after the OU-craptacular. We should be able to hang-in-there tough but a W isn't likely.

mid nineties, the sec talks shit every single year, saying, "we beat each other up" the sec is the toughest most physical conf. YET, nebraska got to face the biggest and most physical sec teams, including its champions, and, what were the results?

which brings me to the big ten,
very mediocre nebraska teams get to play big ten teams about every other year in bowls,

and what happens?

Mid-nineties, huh? Nebraska was awfully good back then. But the two years when you beat the Spartans back then (1995 and 1996), they were 6-5-1 and 6-6 (Nebraska was 12-0 and 11-2). When you beat them in the Alamo Bowl in 2003, they were 8-5, but not Big 10 co-champs (Nebraska was 10-3).

And while you beat Big 10 co-champ Northwestern in the 2000 Alamo Bowl, they weren’t a great team at 8-4 (Nebraska was 10-2).

You’ve played Michigan twice since 1985. At the end of 1985 in the Fiesta Bowl you lost 27-23 (they weren’t Big 10 co-champs). Last year you beat a 7-5 Michigan team in the Alamo Bowl. And they weren’t Big 10 co-champs.

I’m not sure but I think that covers your recent history of “mediocre” Nebraska teams playing Big 10 teams in bowls. Good thing you avoided the Alamo Bowl this year. You would have gotten rolled by 6-6 Iowa.

We prolly won't be seeing much of brad in these parts for awhile. At least not until the Corn hammers SE Tennessee Valley State 56-0 in Lincoln next September.

I caught parts of the game and the last few minutes. They had a chance to kick a 47 yd tying FG at the end and instead went for it on 4th and 11? Great play call there.

I realize you're trying to be funny, but NU does play three bowl teams in their non-conference schedule next year.

Oh and you can't figure out why NU doesn't chance a 47-yd field goal? Could be because our kicker's long is only 41 and that's not because we haven't tried. We have a new kicker coming in next year that hopefully gives NU the option to kick. NU tried a 42 yarder against OU this year and it was freaking blocked! It took a delay of game penalty on NU to reverse that travesty.

Yet another winnable game botched by Callahan and his staff. The last possession should have resulted in a 35 yard field goal attempt....IN THE LEAST. Instead we get a poorly executed 4 and 11 attempt/shit play call.

Jesus H Christ the defense couldn't even finish a "tackle" Auburn backs were bouncing off for positive yards repeatedly. I've seen better fundamentals by the 11 year olds on my son's team earlier this fall. And once again, Grixby gets abused like a Jeffrey Dahmer houseguest.

Props to Auburn and especially the coaching staff who knows how to make halftime adjustments.

2007 is his 4th year, NU fan has been patient for the most part. He'll have his players entrenched, he better deliver next fall or all hell will break loose and we'll not only be looking ahead to his buy-out, but a new athletic director will soon follow.
If he doesn't win a big game next fall, the wolves will be out in force. I think it's rather sad, but a win against SC or Texas, will buy him more time. A loss at Wake Forest will, well...keep watching for that one.
If he's smart, he'll appoint an offensive coordinator, Watson would be a good choice, I think his ego won't allow it.

Oh yeah props to Auburn on having a coach that knows how not to give a game away. Especially when it's handed to you.

The "just wait til such-and-such recruit get-here" excuse from the apologists is getting old. I wouldn't say we've really gotten better. We finished last season playing at a similar level. It especially sucks when you see BSU beating OU using a bunch of 2*'s while we are still making talent-excuses. Ya we are recruiting well but I can't say I was impresses with our coaching the other day.

Pederson just hasn't backed-up the smack he ran after firing Solich, we are still behind Texas and OU. I think we were a better-coached team in 03. I just don't remember looking at us in 03 and thinking we could really be playing at a higher level.

As against OU our D stepped-up enough to get a W, but like with OU we made no adjustments at halftime on O, the opposition had us figured-out and we failed to score a freaking point in the second-half. I could give Cally some-excuse for the OU game since Taylor stunk so bad but this game went on Cally.

After three seasons we are still hovering around the bottom of the top25. BIG WHOOP PEDERSON.

Don't get too excited. Auburn's offense hasn't exactly been existent the better part of the season, and the refs did just as much as Nebraska's D to achieve that mark.

We gave you the run underneath and kept the strength of your offense from doing much. I'll take the W.
