I didn't think USC (I graduated from there, Van didn't) would win this many games this year due to them being a young team. I've heard they were a year away from a NC early on in the season and they put up a good fight.

Somebody please make that their sig already, for the love of god. I would, but a prior sig commitment courtesy of the moon and stars lining up just so to form a gay fuggen baby blue and gold river dance means SoCal owns my sig space for the near future.

AP, any particular reason why every time of late you see the word "USC" posted anywhere you immediately feel the need to inform everybody that you graduated from there and I didn't...

Exactly when did this become apropos of anything?

Van, when will you understand that AP really doesn't matter much? Her life has been an utter failure to this point, in case you didn't know. The trail of moving van receipts from her latest pice of shit apartment, wherever that may be whofuckingknows, should have told you.

My guess is that this is AP, in her usual pink panties, PMS'ing over the fact that someone else here may know more 'bout USC football than her. Whatever. How 'bout showing up more than once per menstruation so that she's got at least SOMETHING resembling a platform from which to bitch and moan? Typical of a woman.

Because I like being an asshole for no reason. To be honest, I don't know why people bandwagon teams from schools where they've never attended nor graduated. Hell, I was a walk-on at OU before transferring to SC and don't get wrapped up on how either do. I could bandwagon Fresno State when they actually win games because I still have a 4.0 GPA there. I guess I just don't give a shit as much as you and others that root for teams they have no real ties to.

To sum it up Van, I'm just giving you shit.

Apparently, Derek Jeter felt the same way. That's one poontang-banging mofo, right there.

Oh, and since no one else will, I'll RACK 420's "only to computer screens" bit...that was worth a minor chortle.

AP, I was a USC fan long before thoughts of college ever entered my brain. I was a USC fan long before any serious thoughts of girls entered my dick.

Pretty much all in one year at around the age of seven (1971-1972) I fell in love with:

-USC football

-Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell and the Pittsburgh Pirates

-Mercury Morris, Larry Little, Paul Warfield and the Miami Dolphins

Those were the first things I ever gave a shit about, period. I didn't care about toys or tv or even family, not really. I cared about sports. That was it, and back then nothing crushed me more ('sup, Jeff Fisher and Freeman McNeil) with inconsolable despair than seeing USC lose to UCLA or ND and nothing overwhelmed me with exultant joy more than crisp Saturdays in the Fall and USC victories over the faggot Bruins and the epic Fighting Irish.

I didn't quite think of it exactly like that where UCLA was concerned but yeah, for a little kid I already thought of ND as being a tough, noble and worthy foe and UCLA as being kinda weak and soft pansies and therefore a loathsome team which I just couldn't stand to see beat USC.

USC football is the only constant in my life, almost from Day One. Even on my death bed I'll probably still be thinking not so much about the usual Dying Guy Stuff but about some stupid USC game that pissed me off...

Like Orson Welles with "Rosebud...." I'll probably whisper with my dying breath, "Catch the fuggen ball, Fisher, you fuck! GAH!!!"

You soooo don't get it. This is why bandwagon fans' opinions don't matter. You've just made my point. If you've actually attended USC you wouldn't be propping those powder blue wearing socialists from a well-known homosexual part of Los Angeles County.

Of course, socalvansmack is the rare exception as he's a good guy. I can't believe it's been over a year since we were at Princeton University pounding beers and grub at a very nice establishment.

So Van, you can be a USC fan/rooter, but you really aren't one of us. bwhahahaha

AP, Meds actually attended USC (and the actual game itself) and if you'll notice there's a second thread from him propping those powder blue socialists from a well-known homosexual part of Los Angeles County.

Gotta always be able to sack up and give credit where credit is due. Their defensive line flat out kicked our ass.

True words. Now tell me this. Aren't you more than just a little pissed off at SC being outplayed and outcoached on Saturday???

Kiffin got pwn3d and there's nothing else to say about it.

That and UCLA's pass rush was at another level that day.

It's hard not to prop the opponent when they deserved the win, because you did not. We did not.

Yep, I am. On offense, at least...

Giving up only thirteen to UCLA on their field in their Super Bowl, I'm good with that. Seeing our consescutive games streak of scoring 20 or more points completely blown out of the water, to the tune of our offense only scoring seven? In a game that meant a national title game bid? Coming out flat and unprepared, and then lacking in the necessary adjustments? Seeing our vaunted offensive line simply getting ruined?

Yeah, it was just disgusting.

Pay the man whatever he wants. Get Norm Chow back.

Jimmy, I agree. UCLA deserves the props.

I'm just really pissed off at SC's level of play and Kiffin getting pwn3d. Like we (the fans in here) have been saying all year, this was nowhere close to last year's team and we expected a couple of losses. To somehow get thru the year with one loss and to have the prize right there in front of you, with nothing standing between you and it except for the team on the field, which happens to be your cross-town rival in the last game of the year and to come out and play like that...

Hell, SC should have come out and played like UCLA did, on both sides of the ball and in every other facet of the game. Saturday's loss would have been much, much easier to swallow.

I'm a Notre Dame alum, but I'll be the first to admit that ND's football program would not be what it is today without the support of the subway alums.

It's really a matter of simple mathematics. ND is a very small school by 1-A standards. ND graduates (approximately) 2,000 undergrads and 1,000 grads per year. That's 3,000 degrees per year, and using an average post-graduation life expectancy of 50 years per alum, you have only approximately 150,000 living ND alumni at any given time. And that's not even accounting for those who pick up multiple degrees from ND, a phenomenon common enough to have earned its own appellation in ND gloss (double-Domers, the record, I believe, is a quadruple-Domer).

150,000 living alums isn't nearly enough to get you a national TV deal, if that's all you're bringing to the table. Just sayin'.

Thanks for this, btw. \/ \/ \/

Damn, I'm about as hardcore a fan as there is, but even I don't expect to be thinking about Jimmah's Big Boy going 58-7 on us in '85 on my deathbed. OTOH, if I didn't have any kids, who knows?

Sounds like you need a kid, Van.
