The Liberty Bowl Houston v. S. Carolina
What a game!
I admit... I lived in Houston for 12 years and I'm a homer for their sports teams.
It would be nice to see the ole' ball coach lose to the Houston kids.

Im surprised a team that goes 3-5 in its own conference gets a bowl bid.
who were the 4 OOC teams they beat, well the three other than Clemson?

No shit...
I can understand rewarding a team that goes 3-5 in conf play with a bowl game if the 4 OOC wins were all vs BCS conf schools, 3 of South Carolinas OOC wins were vs Wofford, Middle Tennessee St and Florida Atlantic.
That schedule is pathetic. Their only conf wins were vs Vandy, Kentucky and Miss St
You have a losing record in conference, you dont go to a bowl game
You schedule any non 1A teams, you dont go to a bowl game
make these fucks accountable for who they play

32 bowl games, 8 of them have ties to the SEC and the SEC also got one of the four at-large BCS bids. Does that answer your question?SoCalTrjn wrote:I can understand rewarding a team that goes 3-5 in conf play with a bowl game if the 4 OOC wins were all vs BCS conf schools, 3 of South Carolinas OOC wins were vs Wofford, Middle Tennessee St and Florida Atlantic.

In fact, the conference tie-ins are even irrelevant on this point. 32 bowl games = 64 bowl bids. 119 teams in 1-A. 64 > 50% of 119. Throw in the fact that 7-win teams are favored by rule over 6-win teams for bowl selections. There's no way a 7-win team from a BCS conference gets passed over for a bowl bid, regardless of the circumstances.
