Very interesting...will Vick still be around for the 2007 season? I think it's safe to say the Falcons will try to make it work with him since they blew out Mora already. No sense in getting rid of both of them. Wonder will become of Schaub though...

Wow, they really kept this one under the radar. This could hurt 'ville's chances of really becoming a national power. It will be interesting to see what they do for a hire.

I just don't see Vick ever being more than a dangerous-but-inconsistent qb for Atlanta.

Other than financial reasons, why would anyone want that Falcons job as long as Marcus' older brother is still the QB? That position is so important and they have arguably the worst passer in the history of football. And I'm not just talking the NFL. I'm talking college, high school, pop warner, etc.... I always wondered what the hoopla was all about when Mexico entered the NFL draft. Okay, he can run........whoopty fucking do. A QB in the NFL is ONLY successful if he can throw. And I'm not talking about having a cannon for an arm like Ron does. I'm talking about actually being accurate. Oh, sure, being mobile is nice. But that doesn't mean shit when your passes are hitting the fans in the cheap seats in the face. I think the media has finally figured out that Vick is not the greatest player of all-time. And until they either get rid of him or switch him to WR, their coach will always end up getting shit canned.

Petrino pulled a bit of a Sabanesque move on Louisville. I'd be shocked if Brohm and/or Bush stay for their senior year now.

Louisville should have the money to get a quality coach. Peterson from Boise State would be an ideal fit for them.

ESPN reporting that Steve Kragthorpe "figures to be" the leading candidate to replace Petrino at Louisville. If true, the Cards won't be losing a heck of a lot.

I don't think Louisville should have too much trouble with a hire. At least on paper, this should be one of the more attractive jobs in the country.

I disagree. I think Steve Kragthorpe is nothing but a mid-major coach. In fact, I'd go so far as to say he'll do a piss-poor job at Louisville. I know he gets a lot of hype because he turned around a crappy Tulsa program, but his offensive and defensive philosophies are not gonna work against good teams. Any good defense will jump all over his offense. I think Kragthorpe is going to be one of the many "hot young" mid-major coaches to be flops on the big stage. Louisville should look elsewhere. Heck, if they want to get a good young coach, why not Chris Peterson? He's a much better coach. Kragthorpe is best suited for the mid-major level but there's no way he'd turn this job down if offered. Too much money to say no to. He'd be stupid to.

Good points, but I doubt few coaches take that job with the intention of building it into something greater than Wildcat basketball. Fact is, the head coaching position at Louisville right now is highly attractive because it provides both relatatively stable job security, and a lucrative gateway to advance to higher jobs, with ease and quickness. So you've got the best of both worlds there.

After making and winning a BCS-bowl it may be harder to get Peterson than it was Hawkins. BSU has shown more than the ability to win the WAC yet-again and go to some meh bowl. He may feel a little less-restricted than Hawkins did.

Kragthorpe, Briles from Houston, or Jones from Hawaii, Norm Chow, or Pelini would be good candidates.

Simms de-commits. Son of Phil, brother of Chris bails on the Cards. He just donned the cap during the Army all-star game, guess Petrino's jump didn't sit well with him.
