One of the few t.u. players I hold inhigh regard. Dude was a class act. I wish him well if Bama gets him.

I have heard this rumor as well. If I'm not mistaken wasn't he the QB coach at Cuse before he was hired to run the Offense at Rice?

Helluva player. Every good coach had to get his big break somewhere. I guess we might see if The Major is a big time coach this early of an age.

I've heard that, but I've also heard he has turned them down because they wanted him as QB coach. Joe Pendry is a name that has come up.

I think he was romored to be a co- offensive coordinator. He served as QB coach for Syracuse for one year and was OC for Rice. He directed a spread passing approach with the previous regime's option players and they made their first bowl game in forever. Major is still a stud around Austin and I hope he gets a chance at a big program. He has Bama blood in his veins since he was named after some Bama player from years back.

In 3 years Major has gone from a GA at Texas to QB coach at Syracuse, to OC at Rice now Co OC at bama.

I wish I could climb the corporate ladder as fast as he has.

I predict within 3 to 5 years major will be back at Texas, if not as a assistant, within 8 years I think he will be back as the head coach.

Possibility of him and Joe Pendry sharing play-calling.

This is one niiiiiice staff Saban is putting together.
I have never been impressed with Kevin Steele. I always laughed when FSU fan said he was their next coach.

Decent recruiter but I would like to see how he runs the defense.

Steele was only one of the best LB coaches in College and one of the Top 5 recruiters in the nation. His LBs were always the most prepared and he has put countless in the NFL including 1st Rounder Ernie Sims and future 1st Rounders Lawrence Timmons and Buster Davis.

Yeah, he is just avg.

Nah. When Saban retires in 5 years, Applewhite will be our head coach.
The Major is a Texas guy through and through, he is at bama for the experience, from here he will take a lower leve head job and then a major head job that is when he will come back to Austin for the rest of his career. :D

You sure? Growing up a Bama fan in Louisiana makes him a UT guy? Especially considering the way he was dumped for Simms?
Yup, I'm sure. He still talks to Greg Davis on a weekly basis, He was a GA at Texas and still visits Austin frequently. I wouldn't put too much stock in his childhood favorite, remember Adrian Peterson grew up a huge Texas fan, he even had a cousin that played for Texas.
