I never in a million years would have expected a result like this.

I still consider this a down year for college football both Texas and USC from last year would have beat the shit out of Florida sorta like what Nebraska did in the mid 90's.

Don't get too ahead of yourself, if Vince came back it would still have been Texas holding the trophy.

I have no need to live in the past, I'm satisfied that Texas was the 2006 Rose Bowl/BCS champion. Comparing this years champion, Florida, to last year champion is not really a stretch since it is done all the time. All I'm saying is if the two did meet, Texas would have beat the shit out of them probably about as bad as they beat Oklahoma last year. I also think USC would have beat the crap out of Florida as well.

Like I said this was a down year for college football across the board it would have been if Texas repeated or if Ohio State would have won.

This is a piss poor stance. Let it go. You were given your due last year, give credit where due. UF is the NC, not Texas. If Vince could have stayed academically eligible (a stretch at best) who's to say he would have stayed healthy? If so, who's to say he could have beaten OSU, OU, or anyone else on the schedule to get a chance at UF? You had you NC, now shut the fuck up and worry about continuing the streak of recruiting NC's.

Just like OSU was going to destroy UF this year? UF just went through one of the hardest schedules in the last 20 years.

One last side note(I'm sure I'll hear it for this one), the SEC now has THREE BCS titles by three different schools - Tenn, LSU, and UF. More than any other conference.

And UF just had one of the most dominating defensive efforts of ALL-TIME. They would swarm Leinart or Young. They just held the number one team to 82 TOTAL yards of offense. Half(if not more) that defense will be drafted over the next two years. They would shut down Texas in a heart beat......you wanted this discussion, you got it.

Nebraska didn't win the BCS Title. I do believe that the SEC has won the BCS Title each time they have played for it.

Do you really think they could have even touched Leinart with that Oline USC had last year? they were the most dominating line I have ever seen, those SEC light weight defenders would get tossed around on running plays and not get close to Leinart on pass plays. The combo of Jarrett, Smith, Bush, and Lindale White are a lot different than trying to slow down Tony Gonzalez and Pittman. Flordia's defense is nowhere as good as Texas was, we had two Thorpe award winners and a safety who will likely be a first round drift pick and still they scored 37 pts on us. What would USC do to Florida? Do go into speed cause Texas is as fast if not faster than the Florida front 7.

The only thing I will say about Florida vs Vince Young is that the only defense that has stopped him has been the J'ville Jags. The Florida defense would slow down Texas about as well as Oklahoma did last year. The big difference between Texas last year and any SEC school at any time is Texas can match the SEC athlete for athlete but also has the big boys to play smash mouth like the Big 10 does.

Florida won, congrats, but there wasn't a single team that impressed me this year, well not to the degree that Texas or USC did last year.

Texas lost to the team you beat, big deal, I never said the 2006 Longhorns were better than the 2006 gaytors, all I said was the 2006 gaytors suck ass compared to past champions. And no even in defeat I wasn't that impressed with the 2006 buckeyes, they lost their entire defense from the year before. Why would I be impressed with the other two teams that beat Texas, I wasn't impressed with Texas all year, the only thing that impressed me about the Longhorns was their current QB who as a RS fish looked damn good.
