TAMPA – University of South Florida freshman running back Keeley Dorsey collapsed while lifting weights at the school's athletic facility Wednesday afternoon and died. Dorsey was 19 years old.
Dorsey is a graduate of Tallahassee Lincoln High School. The school is expected to release a statement and more information later today.
USF police spokesman Mike Klingebiel confirmed at 1:45 p.m. today, responding to a medical emergency, Tampa Fire Rescue transported a student to University Community Hospital.
USF President Judy Genshaft and athletic director Doug Woolard will hold a 4:45 p.m. press conference to discuss the tragedy.

Extremely sad, my thoughts and prayers are with this young mans family and friends.
I hate to say it but I am surprised this does not happen more often. Athletes today are taking some suppliments that are effective but dangerous. Not saying this was the cause of death but for lots of kids it is a contributor.
When I was working out I took ripped fuel with Ephedrine (sp) and it did a number on my liver, my doctor thought I had liver disease. Needless to say I don't touch the stuff anymore.
