yes most of it was heresay...the couple ex players they supposedly interviewed even said they had no idea that they were going to be put into that article and their stuff had nothing to do with Clarett...
just weird how ESPN couldn't get enough OSU stories out there and now with this I haven't see front page of ESPN.com like they did with the Clarett deal...
just sayin is all...if Reggie did do this then it sucks...it sucks because I don't care who you are if you are a player all you have to do for 3 years is ball, eat, nail hot chicks, and wait your turn...
something about a schollie, travel, food, clothes, etc you get just gets my blood boiling when I see this shit...and not just in this case...many others you can dissect...
would be interested to get non schmick USC fans take...

Jason Cole and everyone else up at Yahoo are Stanford boosters and grads.
ESPN isn't all over this because they understand that in 2001 the NCAA amended the rules removing a schools responsibilities for actions of agents not tied to the school.
The tapes were made by Bush's family and are being used in an extortion case against Lloyd Lake and now Stanford grad wants to flip them to indite USC which had nothing to do with it.
Maybe they take away Bush's Heisman for this, the school and its boosters had nothing to with this

Honestly, what part of this don't you understand? If it can be proven that Reggie took money from anyone, he is retroactively inelegible, which could lead to USC forefiting any games he played in.
Oh and Charles Robinson isn't a Stanford grad. He went to MSU.

Seems like it's Reggie/Reggie's family that did the wrong... from what little I have read on the issue -- no indication yet that PC, USC, or USC boosters are involved.
but, explain to me how NO ONE in the SC organization notices bush driving around in a new car and his dirt poor parents showing up to the Cal game in limos. Puh-lease. They just looked the other way.

Why is this even news at all? Pete Carrol cheats. The sky is blue. Yeah, big deal. Let's not all act like we're surprised about this. If Pete quits cheating, then that would make for a story. But really, this is mostly old news. He took gifts and cash while at USC......no shit!
Does anyone really believe Reggie is the only one at USC that has been getting paid? Come on, give me a break.
The fact is Pete Carrol getting these big time recruits regularly is only PARTIALLY due to the warm weather and the tradition at USC. The other reason he's picking up these players is because of.......well, you guys figure it out.
Anymore, I've stopped caring as much about coaches in college athletics cheating because they do it so regularly and nothing's ever gonna change because if you're an elite program like USC (or tOSU, FSU, Tennessee, etc), the NCAA will turn their backs on stuff like this. Nothing's going to happen to USC. No way, no how. Pete could fork over thousands of bucks to recruits on live TV on ESPN right with Myles Brand 10 feet away and the NCAA wouldn't do a thing to them. Actually, that's not true. They'll do something to show us all they mean business. They'll give Pete Carrol a talkin' to. That's what they'll do.

Which is exactly why USC is guilty and should be punished as well. If only dumbshit up there could comprehend this, then he would get it.420 wrote:but, explain to me how NO ONE in the SC organization notices bush driving around in a new car and his dirt poor parents showing up to the Cal game in limos. Oh, and anyone that truly believes USC was not involved is a fucking idiot. Of course USC wouldn't hand over the cash, that would be stupid. That could be traceable. They're smarter than that. You have someone else hand over the gifts. Someone that has no ties to the program. Petey would really have to be a moron to allow the boosters or himself to give the gifts/cash.
By the way, whatever happened to that story about Dwayne Jarrett living for free paid by Leinart's old man? Or did USC cover this one up too?

the funny thing is and again outside of schmick the SC posters are class and won't run and hide...as OSU fan I sat here and took shot after shot when the clarett lies were abound...
but again I echo Indy's comment if BUSH took a fucking penny he took an illegal benefit...plain and simple...if the NCAA is going to crucify Rick Majerus/Utah for buying a kid a pizza then how could they not hit up USC for Bush taking an illegal benefit? I mean Pete even alluded to it in the question about the Rose Bowl...
remember no program outside of maybe Northwestern or Stanford or Duke in college football hasn't bent a rule or 3 so Schmick quit acting like everyone has an ax to grind with USC...

Sam,
Yep, exactly. I'm sure you hate Fulmer, but give the guy credit for diverting the situation over to Alabama. Was a smart move on his part because he was fucked!
As for Notre Dame, what have they done? No one hates Notre Dame more than I, but I wouldn't call them a cheater. Lou Holtz was once their coach so obviously stuff was going on back then, but since then I find it hard to believe guys like Bob Davie, Ty Willingham, and Charlie Weis were allowing any funny business to go on behind the scenes.

This isn't a fact, dipshit. It's speculation on your part. Unless you have tapes of him giving cash to recruits, let the big boys handle it and shut the fuck up.TheJON wrote:The fact is Pete Carrol getting these big time recruits regularly is only PARTIALLY due to the warm weather and the tradition at USC. Which is why the NCAA will never impose the death penalty again.Jsc810 wrote:Great points.Sudden Sam wrote:USC, Notre Dame, and Tennessee can do anything they want to...no penalties imposed. It's been going on and will continue going on.
UT had enough shit exposed in the last 5 years to shut down any other program. What was done? Zip. Nada. Not a thing.
USC will slide on this mess, too.
Sincerely,
SMU
As far as ND, I have no dobut they bend the rules. Everyone does. To think otherwise is silly.
And JON, you may want to remember Kim Dunbar. I'm sure it's part of the 99% you forgot.

Of course they do -- it's a massive anti-Bush conspiracy.
Either that, or they have a hard-on for sports news stories...
Ya'think?
Or do you really believe they just randomly drew Reggie Bush and Barry Bonds' names out of a hat?
Or is it maybe there's a very high probability that those two are guilty of wrongdoing?
Think hard on that one now, Sis. A random conspiracy against random athletes...or following leads on major sporting news stories...you make the call.
I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one

Guess your friend shouldn't come to you with any questions related to ND or NCAA sanctions.TheJON wrote:Who the hell is Kim Dunbar? Name kinda sounds familiar, but I'm not sure who she is. Let me guess, related to something Iowa???
But you know more than 99% of the people on this board (self admitted) and are still a humble person (also self admitted).
You're a regular riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside of an enigma.

Considering it's the only time ND has been sanctioned by the NCAA and most everyone else on the board knows who she is and how she relates to ND, yeah, you don't.TheJON wrote:You're right, because I am not familiar with 1 person in the history of the world, I know nothing. Excellent take as always.
Don't make stupid fucking statements like you did, and people won't feel the need to point out every instance where you're full of shit or don't know dick.

Nope, and nope.TheJON wrote:Oh, it's ND related. I remember some shit maybe mid 90's. Wasn't Ray Zellars busted for something? That's probably 10-12 years old. Wasn't Lou Holtz somehow connected to that (other than the obvious fact he was the coach)?
That guys site must suck balls.

Bragging? My god, do you misinterpret everything? Shit, you came off saying I know nothing, so I gave a response. Bragging about being a sports know-it-all is like that friend we all have that likes to brag about how much pussy he gets when every chick you see him with weighs 200 pounds. I love sports and follow them regularly but bragging about my sports knowledge is NOT something you'd ever hear me do. Bragging and MENTIONING are 2 completely different things.

That's not mentioning. That's bragging.TheJON wrote:Anyone that knows me personally, usually comes to me for any sports related question so I must know something. And that includes a good friend of mine who happens to run a well trafficed sports website.
See above.TheJON wrote:I've forgotten more football than 99% of the fans out there including most of the posters on these boards.

Again, you're taking those statements out of context. They were responses to something you had said. That's not bragging at all. You were mentioning how I know nothing about sports, so that was my response. You should see my tone of voice when I type......it's usually me laughing my ass off at some of the shit I say. If I was bragging, I'd sit here and say "yeah, suck on that bitch" after hitting submit. The only thing I've ever bragged about sports related was when I held Kirk Hinrich under his season average in high school. Was, and still am, pretty fucking proud of that and like to mention that everytime I get the opportunity.
