John Brown probably wont qualify. That is why FSU stopped going after him.
T Rex, Jimbo wouldnt have taken a paycut to come and be Bowden's lackey. One reason he probably came was to hope to someday replace Bobby but Bobby has said publicly that the Offense is Jimbo's. When Richt was here, he put Bobby in his place and he stayed out of the way.
No way in hell Amato will ever be the HC at FSU. He is 60 years old. I dont think anyone at FSU feels that he has proved that he could take over a high profile program such as FSU.
Jimbo will be the HC or possibly Petrino if he doesnt succeed in the NFL and the timing is right.

His package with supplements is over $400000 PER YEAR.....slightly less than at LSU. What are you talking about? His base is $215,000 then there the add-ons. He was pissed Les Miles took over the play-calling duties. He left. Please don't say he took a 50% pay cut to grace your sidelines......give us a break.....he felt jilted and went to a program that needed a decent OC. He definitely was NOT going to lose $200,000 just because you are FSU.

Oh and Corley de-commits.....can't say I'm surprised. He's been wavering for weeks. Too bad. I'm assuming it's he wants to stay closer to home than all the competition he would have had at UF. Apparently, DAD wasn't thrilled about Dunlap and Trattou.

Wasn't it him who took the no-talent Major Applewhite and made him a winner? If so, I'd say he got all he could have hoped for from that kid....and then some.King Crimson wrote:like who? Chris Simms? i knew this was coming. Applewhite was benched by Mack and Greg Davis his senior year after being Big XII POY....Applewhite was also the starter (most people forget) in the 63-14 2000 RRS game.Husker4ever wrote:Wasn't it him who took the no-talent Major Applewhite and made him a winner? Shows how little you know. No Bowden will coach FSU again after Bobby. Tommy sucks and terry has been out of too long.Carson wrote:Terry Tot Bowden will be your next HC.Cicero wrote:Jimbo will be the HC or possibly Petrino if he doesnt succeed in the NFL and the timing is right.

Hmmmmmm, 6 of the top 10 recruiting classes belong to SEC schools. I wonder why that is.
B/c a lot of the top talent in the country resides in their backyard.
Is your next question going to be about why does Texas, USC, tOSU, FSU and Miami clean up in recruiting?
WHY IS LSU ALWAYS IN THE TOP OF THE RECRUITING PECKING ORDER?

Greg Davis' decision to bench Applewhite had more to do with keeping Phil Simms happy, I'd venture to say. Also, how does one bad game totally invalidate a no talent who became Big 12 POY? Davis probably fucked up by benching Major which has nothing to do with the progress the kid made and more to do with keeping good on a promise to Chrissy. And why in the fuck am I defending a Texas coach and player?

You God-Damned know I cannot give you a link, but you were the one saying Davis was the daownfall of t.u. For 2 years straight you said t.u was as bad as they were because of Davis. Now you are sucking his cock? Jill, step back and admit you were a Davis-downer and now you are singing a defferent tune.Vito Corleone wrote:. I never said he took a 50% paycut. LSU offered him a raise to stay. I know he bumped heads w/ Les Miles but he felt FSU was the better opportunity.

Davis took a redshirt fish named Major Applewhite and turned him into Freshmen POTY
Then he did it again with Vince Young
Then he did it again with Colt McCoy
Did you see Vince's ability to pass his redshirt fish year? He had the best receiver in UT history and couldn't do a thing with him.
Did you see him his Junior year and his ability to carve up the competition? 3000 yards passing and #1 in passing efficiency going into the Rose Bowl
Yea I stand by what I said

Mack or Davis didn't bench Applewhite. Where does this crap come from?
Major blew out his knee in the 2000 Cotton Bowl against Arkansas, he was only about 50% at the start of the 2000 season so Simms got the start, Major was never 100% in the 2000 season, infact he never became 100% til his senior year. And since Simms never did anything to lose the starting job until the 2001 Big 12 championship game there was no justification for benching him. Once Simms screwed up the Big 12 championship it was Major who took over and won the Holiday bowl against Washington.

And if ND had gotten all the kids that told Weis they were comming, they would have Benn, Martez Wilson, Chris Donald, Ben Martin and Lorenzo Edwards.Cicero wrote:Such Bullshit. Kid was a tOSU commit all year.
These kids aren't committed until Feb. 7th, which is why ND is now going after Brian Smith, 4* LB recruit committed to Iowa.
Until there is an early signing period, this will always be the case.

I agree with that...why they don't have that is beyond me...
but much like the NBA age min has brought us a pretty deece college basketball season it will take years for the football side to catch on...
I mean with the amount of kids enrolling early why they don't have that is beyond me...
congrats again FLA fan...good get...

They need to adopt an early signing period like Basketball.
I don't have a problem with a kid de-committing to a school. The decision a kid makes as to where he wants to spend the next 4 years of his life... is something that will effect him for the rest of his life.
Believe it or not... some kids take into consideration more than just football when they make their decision. If a kid gets an offer late to a school he really wanted to go to, more power to him.

Smith is a 4* LB from KC who's dad was the lead blocker for Allen Pinket at Notre Dame in the mid '80s. Chris Smith (dad) also sits on the Monogram Board of Directors.TheJON wrote:Who is Brian Smith? ND fucked up by not offering him early, he committed to Iowa and has been one of their best recruiters.
Indy, he's now the best HS LB prospect since LT, according to the Neck.

Tom Lemming has a hard on for ND too??
I think it's funny when a kid commits to a big school they add 1-2 stars and if they commit to a lesser school it goes down. For example, here in Iowa 2 years ago we had a QB for Ames (Austin Arnaud). After his junior year of HS, he was rated a 4-star by everyone. He improved quite a bit his senior year (I know this because I covered HS football here back then and saw him play many times) and dropped to a 3-star after committing to Iowa State. How do you get worse just by committing to a lesser program??

Wait, he had verballed to Iowa? Last I had checked (maybe 2 weeks ago), the only 4-star LB we had was Tyler Nielsen (who is way overrated unless he drastically improved his senior year because I was not impressed with him when I saw him his JR year). I don't recall seeing the name Brian Smith on Iowa's list. He must have been a recent commit.

I believe Smith gained a star when Scout and Rivals released their final rankings. He committed back in October, I believe.TheJON wrote:Wait, he had verballed to Iowa?
