I don't mind being called out for an spelling error or misused word or bad information...I'm not perfect and I'll laugh at most mistakes because usually it's something stupid. I do get the feeling that some posters here like to call out the "runts" of the group on any little mistake just because they seem to get a hard-on whenever they show their so-called superiority. It's a friggin' message board...if you want think you rule over this little kingdom, have at it. In the grand scheme of things, being corrected for grammar or for my choice of words in post on a message board doesn't exactly rank that high on my list of concerns. You won't see me nail anyone on their mistakes unless it's something silly and I'll give a playful dig...nothing with me is ever malicious.

I'm sure dinsdale has made a spelling error or two in his 12,000 plus long winded posts. But, I'm also sure it was probably not his fault.

Not bad for that sorry shithole. Of course, the inevitable 'Stop-Katrina time' for the other 10 months out of the year will have you epicly spellchecking the mad fuck out of this BB.

If this is, in fact, some sort of regional slang, then I certainly hope the Michigan posters don't run rough shot all over me for being unfamiliar with it.
I know I'm jumping in a little late, but as long as y'all running spelling smack and stuff, I believe that this should be

I see Idiot #2 has chimed in.

Hmmm....there was spellingsmack being dished(for better or worse).

People even revisited some of the better gaffes made over the years on these boards, such as "self of steam," and whatnot.

Even saw "roost" used in place of "ruse."

So, let's see -- would an intelligent person probably assume that there was an intentional misspelling of a word, which would be quite consistent with the theme here...

Or would they try to jump up on the mountaintops and try and show everyone how clever they were by pointing out what was OBVIOUSLY an intentional misspelling?

Gee, tough call there.

Wait...no, it's not. Mikey done tarded it up.

What's really fun to watch is when the marionette thinks he's getting over on the puppeteer.

Nah.

I often work for various contractors, doing this-and-that. One of them is a particulary accomplished drunk, which always makes road trips a real hoot.

And sometimes, I'm working for spoiled soccermoms who are usually freeloading off some sugardaddy who drives his family around after drinking. These are the "bosses" that univerally suck.

You took a lot longer that I exectorated.

So, you called Sissyroo once last year on the very same gaffe.
That somehow makes it some kind of board tradition, on the order of "sordid clambake" and "self of steam".

No, actually it came up several more times...as MGO already alluded to...but don't let facts stand in the way of...whatever it is you're trying to say.

And there's no way you can possibly know how freaking stupid you just made yourself look with the "sordid clambake" citation. But if it helps you -- when you type "sordid clambake" (or the word that fires off the auto-filter to "sordid clambake" it's a youthamism for "Hi, I'm a gravytraining, unfunny dweeb."

Actually, you should probably put "sordid clambake" in your location field.

Hey, you spelled that wrong, James. Maybe your keyboard is caked in hair gel detritus? Or maybe you're enjoying a sigmoid shower as you head butt the keyboard for your "takes"? If so, we understand the occasional typo.

Tell me, how many repititions does it take to go from the leval of "super clever Dinsiism" to the sordid clambake - like threshold of "Hi, I'm a gravytraining, unfunny dweeb" - ism. You seem to have a pretty solid handal on this. I just want to know so I won't make the same misteak again.
