Last I checked, playing Texas, Oklahoma, and Big Red wasn't exactly a cakewalk. And while the Conference of Champions may be a hair on the downside, playing USC, Washington-until-recently, Wazzu, Arizona State, and even Stanford-in-a-good-year isn't exactly easy. When teams come into Oregon, they have to deal with possible sun-in-your-face, which they're not used to(Autzen is east-west). At Oregon State, opponents have to deal with rednecks spitting on them. Go to Wazzu in early-season, and most schools outside of Arizona aren't used to the arid air.



We can all sit here and make arguments about in-conference play being tough. I think it's beyond amusing that SECDork(and yes, you are dorks) thinks they've somehow cornered the market.

Last season, your team, Bama, played 7 teams who would be considered by even the most casual observer to be patsies or "guaranteed wins."

Of those teams, 4 were out of conference, and 3 were in conference. They were Duke, FIU, Hawaii, LA-Monroe, Vandy, Ole Miss, and Miss St.

Yes, you read that right. More than half of your games were gimmees. I repeat. Over half. Gimmees. Of course, you didn't win all of them, but the theory is that they were gimmees.

I can think of a certain team that played Arkansas, Nebraska, and ND last year. That team seems to like to go scorched-earth on the OOC scheduling as much as possible. Maybe that's why they often have the #1 rated SoS, and get killer BCS points/Bowl games every year, while the SEC plays for the consolation.
