Fuck you Goobs, you dirty cockblocker.
My next use of cliche in this thread was going to be along the lines of "when your drywall ceiling opens up like Cinder's gash at a trollstop"...but you had to go and fuck it all up.
I do sincerely apologize for the "Terry" thing, though...totally uncalled for.
Let's put the Billy Gillispie topic to rest shall we...

I've got other home improvement issues (e.g., adding a new bedroom) which are higher priority right now and much more expensive. Winter is over -- no need to put the cars in the garage right now, and even if there was, I couldn't do it with all of the kids' toys in there. Why take on another expense when you don't need to?Goober McTuber wrote:I also don’t need a spreadsheet to recall your garage door issues which, BTW, could probably be resolved for $1,000 or less. I’ve got at least four different credit cards I could put that on if I didn’t have it in the bank.

Really, Terry, this thread stopped being about you sometime yesterday afternoon. But if you put a new door on the garage, perhaps you could use that as another bedroom.
There is a duplex about a mile from my house where the white trash occupants have constructed a screen façade, complete with a screen door, right in front of their garage door.
So when they open the garage door....that’s right, they have converted their garage into a screened in porch, lawn furniture and all. With an American flag spray painted onto the screen. Meanwhile, their late model BMW convertible sits outside in the driveway. Year round.
I have got to get a photo of that and share it with the rest of the interwebs.

Lessee here. You're suggesting that I convert an unheated, detached garage into a bedroom? Maybe you should let Dins handle the contracting questions. It seems your lack of knowledge in this area extends far beyond deckscrews.Goober McTuber wrote:Really, Terry, this thread stopped being about you sometime yesterday afternoon. Fwiw, my wife already has the attic picked out for space. It's also unheated (which is why it'll cost some money), but at least it's attached to the house.
I already have a porch. The garage is basically a storage space, and will probably remain so for the foreseeable future, new doors or not. Garbage cans, kids' toys, lawn tools, shovels, odds and ends that invariably end up in my wife's yard sale. Besides, with three (soon to be four) cars in the household, there's no way to get all of the cars in there. There is a duplex about a mile from my house where the white trash occupants have constructed a screen façade, complete with a screen door, right in front of their garage door.
