What debacle?

The NFL forum is the quiet giant of T1B. It can go from zero to 60 in 5 seconds and then stop on a dime. Lotta' history here, and more to be made.

I see no debacle, other than feelsdick being an honorary mod. Now that's a debacle. Good to know the admins won't even let the dweeb sticky a thread up in this bitch, the short leashed cur.

People are allowed to express their own opinions on matters without "swinging from someone's sack." Especially seeing as most of Goob's recent posts directed towards me cannot be described as... kind. While I do respect him as a poster... we are DEFINITELY NOT "buds." So... It's "whomever" when "whomever" is the direct object of the sentence, not the subject of the sentence. I.E., the one that is having something done to them (plungeree) not the one performing the action (plungerer).

And Dins, if you affect something, you produce an effect. Affect is a verb, effect is a noun. So you can't effect something and you can't cause an affect.

Yeah, I used to think I had the effect/affect rules down...much like you think you do*.

That was until I got lit up like a methpipe at an Irie orgy over it.

The debate was settled by compromise -- the word "æffect" is suitable for both uses.

* - Might want to rethink your definitions. It's not nearly so simple as you think. They're both nouns and trasitive verbs, depending on some complicated usage rules.

But you go ahead and think whatever you want. I was you once...and that "debate" ended pretty badly for me. But you choose your own path, brother.

Yeah, I used to think I was all good, too...then I took an "Affect/Effect" asskicking at the hands of some of the board-scholars.

For example, I've unilaterally decided that this board is teh suck lately. Rather than sitting around whining about it, I've decided to EFFECT an attitude change on this board.
