I'm going to go out on a limb and guess "somewhere in Northern Nevada."
What do I win?
If you want to find him that badly, head north of Reno...when you see an adult male, that's him. I believe the population of far-northern Nevada is somewhere between 1 and 2...right around there somewhere. There's "shitholes," there's "major fucking shitholes," and then there's Northern Nevada.
Do a Google for Deep Purple message boards, and I'll bet you'll find him.
Where the hell is...

I think Nevada has its own share of fires this time of year.
What a freaking scam, the same scam they employ here in Oregon.
The media makes a big deal out of wildfires in the desert. Millions and millions of dollars to fight them, and a tremendous amount of water is used.
Which begs the question...why?
It's the freaking desert. No one freaking lives in Eastern Oregon or Northern Nevada, save for a few cattle ranches and whatnot. Very little in the way of forest. A bunch of sagebrush and scrubgrass starts burning(like it has for eons), which will grow back within the next year, and for some reason, it's a national emergency which requires millions in taxpayer dollars.
Ponderous.
Don't get me wrong -- if there's risk of property damage, loss of life, or some sort of huge financial risk, I'm all for digging a trench, starting a backfire, or whatever action the fire scientists deem appropriate. But last I checked, there isn't really much of a commercial market for sagebrush and scrubgrass. There's also forested areas that are probably worth saving(for habitat reasons, not for those paltry little toothpicks they call trees over there).
If it isn't burning up women, children, or cows...let it burn. I'm fairly confident that sagebrush won't become extinct if they do.

Sudden Sam, with all due respect, Nornev, as far as I remember, was just a guy who said he was a firefighter and used pics of firefighting or wildfires in his av. If he was a poet and scholar as well, I guess I missed it. If you dug him I suspect it is because of his music takes.
I could be wrong but I think you'll be hard pressed to find anybody else who has even noted his absence. NorNev is no Fester.
