Diaperboy to hold out?

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chiefs ... 58912.html

This part drew a double take from me, followed by a chortle or two .......

“I’m prepared,” Johnson said matter-of-factly. “They (my agent and father) got me saving money. I’m hustling to get more money to put in the bank. They already started setting aside different accounts, if that would have to happen. They’re already telling me to be cautious about how I spend, where I go and stuff like that. To make sure that if it goes down like that, then I’ve got to be able to pace myself so I won’t be in trouble.”

WHAT?? haha WHAT WHAT??

Makes it sound as if he's already burned through the few million (easily) he ought to have safely stashed away.
He thinks he could find himself in financial difficulty if he misses some paychecks?

Dumbfuck much??

KC, considering the current state of it's team, ought to be seriously look to move this guy, IMO.

Ahem, ANYWAY.....this is pretty simple really. King Carl simply needs to open up the team checkbook, scratch LJ the check with the pay raise that he CLEARLY deserves, and be done with it. LJ IS the Chiefs' offense for all practical purposes this year, and because of that and the SICK numbers he put up since he's been the starting RB for this club he needs to be compensated properly. Simple as that.

Nothing to see here folks...keep moving.

"When you’re asking for the kind of money we’re asking for, it’s hard to be the good guy.”

Whitlock once again trying to make waves with a non-story. At least they went to Zona Rosa to carve out this non-story, which is nice. The Northland rules.

Much ado about nothing, though.

King Carl will take care of LJ, just like he did with T-Gon a few years ago.

LJ? Just STFU from now on. The minute that you allowed JW to become your mouthpiece compromised your bargaining position in this town. As much as you think we hate on Carl, we hate Whitlock more.

To my way of thinking, this would be a bad idea.

As much as it might pain you to face it, KC is in at least a semi-rebuilding mode.
Laying out heavy coin for ONE guy takes away from the effort to build in multiple need areas.
On top of that, LJ is, IMO, a whiny little pussy.
Not the sort of guy a wise GM should feel real great about 'building around' .... which is what you're doing if you pay him heavy jack.
How's LJ's (the franchise-to-be) o-line shaping up this season?

Just my opinion, of course.

Maybe so, but Herm's already taken out much of the trash this off-season. Last year this was the oldest team in the league, and this year it will be one of the YOUNGEST, so yeah I think it's safe to say that the Chiefs are rebuilding.

Didn't seem to hurt the Seahawks. Or the Colts.

True, but that whiny little pussy is STILL the 2nd best RB in this here league, PERIOD.

WRONG- LJ's been a MODEL teammate since he took over at his position and he's been here for every single off-season workout and OTA- he's even been working harder on his pass-blocking and pass-catching (which were the holes in his game). If that isn't leading by example then I don't know what is.

The O-line is a question mark to be sure, but adding D. McIntosh at LT and C.Terry at RT and putting J. Welbourne at RG where he's a better fit (pending, of course, on whether dude gets dinged AGAIN for "illegal performance substance" usage  ) SHOULD be a solid unit. But until I see them play I'm not sold on them.....YET.
