Seen enough of CY?

What a great series this is. I was at the game on Friday when the Pads couldn't do shit and lost 2-1. What most people don't realize is that Maddux is the Padres' third best starter. Pretty damn nice when you have two guys like Maddux and Wells and they're basically the 3-4 starters. Tonight Young went 7 innings - 1 hit, no runs, 11 Ks (10 in the first 5 innings). His home ERA is now something like 0.90.

Tomorrow's game could be an epic matchup. 9-1 Peavy vs. 10-1 Beckett. Don't fuckin' miss this potential World Series preview if you have any chance to watch.

Nice series!!

Could this be the precursor to the 2007 World Series???

San Diego has decent pitching...but needs some more offense!!

A Gonzalez is a stud, M Cameron & K Greene are decent, Giles is okay. All of them have speed but I think they need additional power to be serious in the playoffs!

Sounds like it was a great series. Think there's any chance both of these teams could make it to the World Series?

I seriously doubt this was a WS preview. San Diego could just as easily win their division as not even make the playoffs.

This much I know... SD is the sport's world bitch. It sounded like the games took place in Fenway. Red Sox chants, cheers, and applause were louder than anything I heard for the "home" team.

Care to rephrase this...in English?

You're right on this point. I was at the game on Friday night and the Sox fans were consistently louder than the Padres fans. Not uncommon here, and something you East Coast troglodites don't have to deal with, but most people in these parts are transplants. The same thing happens when the Cubs or the Mets come into town. I think every New England transplant on the West Coast, along with a few thousand who can't get tickets to Fenway and decided to fly out here for the weekend, was at this game.

Maybe the "home" fans just didn't care as much about seeing these games as the baseball starved Sox fans did. When a game that actually means something (Dodgers?) is happening the locals most definitely will not be out done.

One thing I'll say is I'm sure glad I don't have to spend time in the beer line every game listening to a bunch of loud mouthed assholes with attitude going "Yo, wadda youse tink about dem Sawx!?!"

Sure thing. The NL----->(National League) West is wide open------> (a lot of competition). SD --------->(San Diego, who plays in the NL West) could win the division... or they can come in 3rd or worse ------>(not make the playoffs.) If one does not make the playoffs--------> (misses the playoffs), one usually does NOT make it to the WS ----> (World Series)

I guess the Sox have already been awarded the AL slot.

Unlike you, I am also a baseball fan. I know and care about things other than my team. You're too stupid to carry on a legitimate conversation beyond how cute you think a certain ballplayer is.

The Sox haven't been rewarded the AL slot, Mikey... you know that. However, they're a lock to at least make it to the post-season.

Either that's an "insult" or you're a dumber cunt that I imagined. Based on your track record since SC3, let's assume the latter. There is no team I hate more than the Red Sux.

No... a joke is you fashioning yourself as a responsible parent. With a bi-polar crack whore as a mother, I am sure your offspring will suck down lithium at the same pace you inhale cock.
