Oh, give it up. The U.S. had undermined the duly elected secular Iranian president in 1955, installing the ruthless Nazi, the Shah. The Iranians finally eructed this Kissenger-pet as the slimy hairball he was--and the chickens come home to roost, etc.

The conditions under which the U.S. marines were stationed in Lebanon in the first place are utterly disgraceful--murder and terror attending the vile designs of Israel, etc. And YES, the locals fought back.

My "freedoms" werent in any jeopordy before the US went to war in the MidEast. They are in fact at risk since then.

Nor to parse words or minimize the injuries and wounds suffered in Iraq by Americans regardless of their severity, but it's doubtful that a large percentage of those numbers are "maimings". Certainly not enough to add up to "tens of thousands".
