IMO, he's the greatest NFL coach of all-time, if not the most influential. Great person as well.

RIP

That is about half as impressive as Paul Brown's coaching tree.

Herm Edwards needs to be added to Dungy's tree.

Walsh's influence is unreal. Not only his coaching tree but his West Coast Offense has revolutionized the pro game.

INDEED.

Walsh's contributions have been GREAT--->but, he's just evolving Paul Brown.

that's not a discredit to Bill Walsh.....just some prespective.

RIP Bill Walsh....those 80s 49er teams were offensive MACHINES with Montana under center and they were fun to watch.

The following were part of Paul Brown’s coaching Sequoia:

Don Shula (player for Paul Brown)
Chuck Noll (player)
Ara Parseghian (player)
Abe Gibron (player)
Weeb Ewbank (coach under Paul Brown)
Sid Gillman (coach)
Bill Walsh (coach)
Blanton Collier (coach)

So Walsh’s tree becomes just another branch on Paul Brown’s.

[onebadappledon’tspoilthewholebunch]I also read somewhere that Marty Schottenheimer was part of Paul Brown’s tree.[/onebadappledon’tspoilthewholebunch]

Bill Walsh knew QB talent better than any coach I've ever known. And the WCO has revolutionized the game of football.

As a Niner fan I think he and his teams provided me more entertaining moments than just about any other pro team I ever liked. If the word "genuis" can be applied to football, he certainly deserved the moniker for his offensive talents.

Nice eulogy on the Niner site.....
