BTW: According to history, half of the guys who were in the top 10 last year won't be there at the end of this year. So look at the guys around you. If the guy in front of you and the buy behind you don't have a first/second round bust on their hands, then most likely you do.A.C. In my redraft serpentine draft league I'm picking 9th of 12. It's a funky scoring system that makes kick and punt returners extra valuable. So I'll be lying in wait for Maurice Jones-Drew. I would in no way recommend that for any normal scoring format, But with this fucked up format Drew is a legit top 3 back. I'm just hoping nobody else in the league remembers he was a kick returner last year.A.C. Certainly not taking Rudi, Westbrook, Manning, Parker, Addai, Gore, Larry Johnson or Alexander with the first pick in the draft. LT has traditionally been the top pick but after the year Steven Jackson had it's a very hard pick between the 2. Reminds me when Faulk and E. James were at the top of their games and usually went 1-2.A.C. I payed $51.00 for Manning last year and dude was worth every penny.
It depends on the league and the scoring system. In most leagues RB's are the most valuable. In others not so much. I won the JFFL last year with Thomas Jones as my featured back. Hell in the championship game I played Ron Dayne......AND FREAKING WON!!!! :D

But in a serpentine draft, drafting Manning in round 1 is a bad move unless he repeats his 2004 season. It is even more so this year since Brandon Stokley and Tarik Glenn are now gone. Not saying that Manning will tank. I'm just saying that the difference between Manning and the next tier of QBs will be less pronounced this year.

Ours isn't an auction league, just a standard FFL, fitty dollahs to join and all transactions are $2 each.
No keepers from prior season and draft postion is determined by drawing numbers out of a hat.
From last year's experience, my first in FF, and from research about this kind of a league, solid strategy is to draft RB RB in the first two rounds. Depending on my draft position and player availability, I'll adjust that strategy to grab a top tier QB.
Interesting you should mention Bulger over Manning, Palmer, Brees and Brady, each had better FF numbers last year than Bulger.
