UCLA just gave 35,000 tickets to Notre Dame for the game in October. They never would have sold out for that game otherwise.

In fairness, there is a fairly sizeable contingent of ND alums and subway alums in SoCal. Even so, 35,000 tickets for a road game is all but unprecedented.

They weren't allotted 35,000 tickets for that game. They purchased most of them from ND faculty, etc. UCLA allotted 35,000 tickets to ND for this game.

And now that I think about it, we probably get around 35,000 tickets for our "road" game against Navy most of the time. But I don't think UCLA football fan wants his program compared to Navy, except maybe when it comes to graduation levels.
