With no fence to catch his fall or AC to cool his overbaked brow he soon retreats to climate controlled enviorment of the Northland public library where he researches all things softball related. At least he can cheer for Oak Park up until the games where they are decimated by Blue Springs and BS South.

At least 'Tart still continues to buy me a 5th of Johnny Walker every season, though this may be the year he gets that bottle of Saki. But doubtful.

But no, TDOTRF have not gone away, not as long as Tru, orc, yourself, and moi post here. Even Paul can bring it on occasion when he's not pre-occupied copying someone elses take. Just sorta' in hibernation lately, but the call to arms has been made. We're 8 days from the opener and the clock is ticking. Open with a win, and even you'll start to feel better about this team.

The whole trying to create "fresh" smack thingy has grown rather stale, though. How many ways can we gloss R-Lames and 'tart as pole smoking fans of the most pathetic franchise in pro-sports? It's all been said too many times to count, and loses it's effectiveness after a while.

It was rather amusing watching James pounding his chest a few weeks ago proclaiming that 'duhfan "owns" this board. The only thing they own is a 4-12 record, an unsigned #1 draft pick, and some used Darth Vader gear stashed in the back of the closet.

As for Oak Park vs. Blue Springs, now there's some shit talking i can get with. The Lady Oakies are 8-0 and won the Greater KC softball tourney beating down Liberty 6-0 in the championship game. They've got a stud senior pitcher named Erica Deeney who will no doubt carry that team to the state finals this year. Blue Springs will be lucky to make it out of sectionals.

As for Football, that's a different story. Looks like BS South is loaded again, rolling Truman (no relation to the thread author) 49-0 last night.

If the Chiefs only win two games this year, it will be against Chokeland! Oakland is and will continue to be our bitch.

Actually I think they are looking at a 10-6 season and maybe a play off spot. Last I looked the Chiefs finished second in the division and went to the play offs last year. Has Denver passed them in the off season? The North Mexico Chargers won't win 14 games again. I don't see where Oakland has made any gains in talent, they did get older on defense.

I guess we will find out soon.

They have exactly ONE starter over age 30 -- Warren Sapp.

8 of their defensive starters are in their 5th yr or less.

Hell, they've only got 3 guys on the ENTIRE ROSTER with 10 yrs of experience.

It's a known fact that Oakland is one of the youngest teams in the league, and the defense in particular is very young.

KC hasn't done jack fucking shit to improve, and you're in for a very rude awakening.

That was butt-ugly. Pathetic, actually.

The game started so promising, too. Texans go 3 and out, and the Chiefs march right down the field with some nice scripted plays... only to miss a 30 yd FG attempt badly. The drive stalled when Bowe failed to run his out route (he just sorta' stopped for some reason) and wound up having to dive trying to make the catch on what would have been a perfectly thrown pass for at least a 1st down and maybe a TD.

Kennison pulling up lame with a pulled hammy on the first play didn't help much either.

As for Medlock, we drafted this guy in the 5th round? WTF? Oh, and Tynes has nailed a 44 and a 48 yard FG tonite for the Giants. Fucking terrific.

Looks like our passing attack consists soley of little dump off passes to LJ and Gonzo. They barely tried to stretch the field at all.

Man, I could rant and rave all night, but best just give some well earned props to Houston. They played harder.
