all this talk about high schools and Ryan Broyles (my fellow NHS alum) gas stealing thing has me wondering. sure, it's an off-season time killing type topic...but what the hell....it's wednesday.
what's yer HS and sports moniker
KC:
Norman High Tigers
helmet logo, on a black shell: kinda garish but cool. hasn't changed much over the years.
There's a high school near where I live that calls itself the Little Irish. I went to a rival high school; we used to call them the Little Italians based on the ethnic background of the majority of their students.
Mine:
Bishop Kearney High School
Nickname: Kings (unofficially used to be "Fighting Kings" while I was there, but I think they dropped the "Fighting" part of it later on).
I can't find an image of the helmet on the interwebs, but the logo now is a fleur-de-lis (like the Saints have), but the helmet is silver with black trim.

Garden Grove Argonauts (usually shortened to Argos) since the late 20s, original name was Chili Peppers in 1921. No logo on the helmet (red helmet), colors are similar to Stanford. (red and white).
Trinity Trojans (go ahead and insert condom jokes)...Catholic High School in a suburb of Cleveland. Vonda Ward the chick boxer went there (she was a stud B Ball player)
played football for 1.5 years...had to quit to get a job so I could pay for college...stupid decision back then...was an offensive Tackle and Interior Defensive Lineman when I played...
Our football uniforms looked very similar to Notre Dame...gold helmet and pants and navy home jerseys. They rocked all gold for one of their matchups against our bitter rival Plainwell. Plus, we've got the fight song that sounds like "On, Wisconsin"...no real unique identity with fight song and uniforms and its not like a million other schools don't have "Bulldogs" as a mascot either.

Went to Spring for first 3 years, but then moved over to Humble for fall semester of my Senior year. I transferred back to Spring in the spring to graduate.
I played baseball with Josh Beckett at Spring. He was a pimpled face freshman with a live arm his freshman year. During intersquad games, he put one in my ear that probably clocked around 90 mph. Fucking brutal.
My senior year the football team snapped a 29-game (I think) losing streak. The seniors on the team had never won a game until then. We weren't exactly a football powerhouse...

No, but I know him and I was there when he first met Coach Cooper. Cooper flew down there with a recruiter and they met on the field while David was running on the track. I had to get some forms signed by the AD for Humble so I could play baseball in the spring semester for Spring. It was pure luck for me to go out to the field and get the forms signed by the AD and Cooper, David, the recruiter, and the AD were all standing there. It was cool. I got to meet Coach Cooper and stood there and talked to him for a few minutes and he shared some cool stories about Bo and Holtz and some players. I splattered my pants a few times, but I didn't care. It was just awesome hearing those stories being told by one of the best coaches in the country at the time.
The wife and I hangout with David's sister and her husband from time to time. They live one neighborhood over from us and we have BBQs, cards and such. I haven't talked to her since David's DUI though. I wanted to ask her about that, but I'm sure she got a million phone calls since the incident and I didn't want to get in her kitchen. I might see David during the holidays. Depends on if or when he comes down and we're able to get together. Not sure if he'll remember me since I haven't seen him for over 10 years.

The local high school when I lived in Frisco, TX was the Frisco Coons. Now let's see...Frisco was a town of white farm kids when I first moved there. Mostly corn producing. Yeah, Coons was racist... They are now the Frisco Racoons but everyone still yells "Go Coons!" at the games.
I went to Brazoswood High School. Home of the Buccaneers.
Jordan Falcons. Helmets/logo just like Atlanta's. I don't know how to link a picture in here. Probably pretty easy but whatever... http://www.falconfootball.org/

A. Exit 258 on I-94, turn right, drive till the road dead ends into the St. Clair River.
2. 1992.
B. Fo'sho. I'd just moved there from Dearborn (was supposed to attend Fordson), not to mention my brother and sister graduated from Edsel, so I know the difference. My parents used to live across from that old drunk coach of theirs, Jack something-or-other.
