Oregon State at Cincinnati tonight on ESPN
Take a look at the Bearcats tonight and let me know what you think. I look forward to seeing how the offense looks against a solid football team. I have no idea what to expect tonight. The 59-3 win over SE Missouri State last week was impressive but the opponent was so bad that I don't truly know how good the Bearcats are. I'm hopeful for a better bowl berth and I look for us to knock off either Louisville or West Virginia at home. This is the year for the Bearcats to step up and earn respect around the country. A win over Oregon State would be a good start. I look forward to seeing what you guys think of the Bearcats.

I'd a thunk you'd stand up for the Pac....must be that rivalry thing, huh.....

With your D, you should be able to beat Louisville. Their D is flat out awful.Bearcat92 wrote:I look for us to knock off either Louisville or West Virginia at home.
Looking impressive on D tonight and capitalizing on OSU's turnovers. The mistake the offense is making are certainly fixable.

The offense looks pretty bad (surprisingly) but the defense looks awesome. The defense is just whacking the shit out of the OSU offensive guys. I'm surprised they've been able to contain OSU's running game they way they have. Special teams and defense are carrying the Bearcats tonight. I've got no problem with a 34-3 Bearcats win :)

isn't that a dantionio (sp) defense? (shudders at the thought of him being at MSU and having a little more pull in players...)Bearcat92 wrote:The offense looks pretty bad (surprisingly) but the defense looks awesome. Yes, most all of those guys are Dantonio's recruits but this defense is a little more aggressive than Dantonio's. They put much more pressure on the QB and the DBs seem to be in better postition to make big plays. They have 10 INTs in two games so its worked well so far.

First off, RACK Jay!
Watched with a couple of buddies, flipping between the NFL and OSU/Cin, with an occasional peek at Louisville.
Two of us were cheering quite loudly for Cincy. Of course, the third, our host, was a Beav, and wasn't too amused.
I'm all about the PAC representing... except when the Beavs are playing. Maybe in a bowl... maybe. OOC? The only thing better than a beating at the hands of a shit team would be their plane Marshalling.
Fuck the Sheepfuckers.
I generally root for the PAC OOC, except the only time the Fuskies get that support is when they play someone like Miami or ND. The Beavs get that support... never.
And to those of you with the "BWAHAHAHA!! Way to represent, PAC10!!!"... puh-fucking-leez. OrSU is the #9 or #10 team in the conference, has a brand-new QB, and has a very good RB... and nothing else. Sure, by somehow scheduling an extra game last year(still not sure how the hell that worked), they were able to win 10 games. Except their entire collection of talent fit into one jersey, Sabbi Piscitelli, and he's gone now. Sabbi didn't "beat" USC -- it was the fact that USC was terrified to ever have the ball within 40 yards of the guy... for good reason.
Get real, douches -- if Baylor loses an OOC game, it doesn't mean the B12 "sucks." Although on a side note, I'm sure even Baylor would gangrape the Beavs.
Yeah, you know what you're talking about, bud.
Uhm... Oregon began the discussions/financing/getting the ball rolling to bring baseball back about 10 years ago. How were the Beavs doing in baseball back then? Sitting at the bottom of the PAC9?
Newsflash -- it's the FOOTBALL BOOSTERS who pushed for U of O baseball. They thought recruits who wanted to play both football and baseball were getting away.
It was a football move, plain and simple. So of course, Blank Check University went out and got a baseball guy who's won it all before. Off topic, but just about every player on Sheepfuck's two time defending NCAA champ baseball team is from the Willamette Valley. In a few years, I wouldn't be suprised to see Oregon getting the lion's share of the recruits... and since the last two years have established that if you keep the U&Lers in the U&L, they're unstoppable. Could make for some very nice football recruiting down the road, indeed.

Rack Cincy, Jay and Indy. Way to represent Beavs. Party's over Beav Believer. This football team is inept which will lead into hoops which will be worse. At least college baseball starts in February.
Zero props to all those Pac-10 media and other hacks who have been hyping OSU as their Pac-10 "darkhorse" just cause they beat USC last year and fell into 3rd ahead of underachieving UO, WSU and UCLA.

You can't honestly compare Oregon State to Baylor in terms of programs or their status in their respective cons. State beat USC and went to a bowl last year. Baylor only got into the 12 because of politics and have been at the bottom of the con ever-since. Baylor vs Cinci probably doesn't get moved to Thursday to be on tv. Baylor losing to Cinci surprises NOBODY. The beav have finished higher in the pac than the bears in the 12 and I'll bet whatever you want the beavers finish with a better year again. Baylor is just a shade above Stanford, without academics as an excuse.Dinsdale wrote:First off, RACK Jay!

I'm not saying this loss reflects the level of competition of the Pac, just saying the beavs aren't a cellar-dweller ala Baylor, they are just a team that is going to be inconsistent due to having a greenhorn qb.

You're right -- Baylor at least tried to win some games over a 30-year stretch.
Put aside the on-again/off-again resurgence of the Beavs over the last decade, and they are looking up at Baylor with jealousy.
