Sounds like despite the SEC psuedo-homer thing, he's not all that bad.

Yeah, that pesky old wins/losses stat sure is a weak way to measure teams.Sudden Sam wrote:records and scores be damned.
Just out of curiosity, have you seen any bit of Michigan beyond the Southeast and/or metro Detroit? Ever been to the west coast? Petoskey? Grand Haven? Mackinac? The UP? Taquanamon Falls? Traverse City? I love how people fly into Detroit or Flint, see how cruddy it is, and then proclaim their "trip to Michigan" was a bad experience. Oh, ok.I'm sure there must be some nice things about Michigan (early Bob Seger, Nugent, The Stooges, MC5, Motown, the '68 Tigers, the Duffy Daugherty years at MSU), but I'm not a fan of the state, its' sports teams, its' colleges, it's women...shudder...saw some nasty biguns, or anything else up there.
Then STFU already.......wait a sec....you are arguing that the gap between the SEC and the #2 and #3 conference is not as big as SECfan would have you believe?????MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:
For the hundredth time, nobody is saying the SEC isn't (usually) at the top, just that the difference between them and #2 and even #3 is NOT by a wide gap.

Other conferences? I'd like to see anyone come even close to that!
Wow...big ten fan pimping the big 12....interesting.....buckeye_in_sc wrote:Danimal beat me to it...
Big 12 does have some run there...
plus if we back up 2 more years you throw Colorado in there as well...so Big 12 is pretty even with the SEC there...
This is why you lose credibility amongst Big Ten fans, imo. No, in fact, most every year the Big Ten has four very good teams: Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St, and Wisconsin. It's almost like your measure of "dogshit" is a team which loses more than one game.Sudden Sam wrote:yes, most every year of my existence the Big Ten has two to three good teams...and the rest are generally dogshit.
Sudden Sam wrote:Penn State is a recent member.
That means only TWO schools were worth a shit before JoePa signed on and Alvarez resurrected UW.
At the very least Michigan State and Minnesota have had some pretty damn nice stretches in their history.Sudden Sam wrote:Present: Yes, Penn State (joined in '90), Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin usually field decent teams. So what's your point? That leaves seven have-nots.
No one outside of the midwest could possibly suggest that playing a schedule including Purdue or Indiana or Illinois or Northwestern or Michigan State or Minnesota or Iowa is challenging.
Dins,
Please tell all these fuckin' yankees who retire down here to get back to their lovely weather elsewhere. We are so damn sick of them telling us how we should be doing things. We're quite happy without their input.
I've always been the first to admit it if I'm wrong. If Big Ten teams beat SEC teams in bowls (as PSU and Wisconsin did last year and has happened many times before), hey...congratulations. That's going to happen. I'm saying that, as an overall conference, there are more strong teams in the SEC, year in and year out, than in any other conference. Anyone knows that. Top to bottom, more strong teams. The best team in the country doesn't come outta the SEC every year. I'd never suggest that. But overall conference strength...yes, I'd say usually that's the SEC. Is this difficult for y'all to grasp?

T REX wrote:The SEC had FOUR TEAMS with 10+ wins last year with the NATIONAL CHAMPS and two more with nine wins!!!!!!!!!! No other conference comes close to that....not a one......
None of you have made any arguement otherwise....not one of you.....I've heard close or right behind......
What are any of your points???!!!
Nope, nothing about App St in that line. Clearly, App St is the cream of the crop in that division, and they don't accurately represent the average 1-AA team.Playing Indiana and Purdue and Illinois is no different than playing those 1-AA teams y'all give the SEC so much shit about

I wasn't making the overall-conference argument, on-average I'd agree the SEC is the best con. But you said nobody could touch the SEC's MNC-total/balance and that was obviously refuted. So Buckeye and I do have scoreboard on that.T REX wrote:Wrong about what?
The SEC is the best freaking conference until further notice. Period.
However you slice and dice it......this is stupid already.
I'll gladly say that the Big 12 is right with the SEC in titles but overall top to bottom?????
No way!
