Just curious domers.....how you feel about this????

"Dating back to last season, the Irish have lost four consecutive games by at least 20 points. Last time Notre Dame lost four straight by 20 or more? How does never sound? But then again, they've only been playing football in South Bend since 1887.
(One of the big knocks on Willingham, by the way, was too many blowout losses.)"
Ouch.

On a slightly less predictable note, the sun is expected to rise in the east and set in the west tomorrow.
Btw, the ESPN hacks know next to nothing about ND football. The fact that they thnk ND is located "in" South Bend out front should have told you so.

Uhhhhh......let me try this again......
In the history of ND football.....they have NEVER lost 4 in a row by 20 or more.....Weis is at the helm.
What is your perspective on this?
Fine....forget ESPN....it still doesn't change the FACTS. Just because they reported it doesn't make it false, does it?

As with most members of the media, Forde doesn't look past the surface. Willingham was getting blown out with teams that had plenty of senior leadership. Including 5th year guys, there are 16 seniors on this team. If Weis is still getting blown out in two years, then apples can be compared.T REX wrote:Just curious domers.....how you feel about this????

Another point to consider is that 20 points is a pretty arbitrary measure of what constitutes a blowout loss. I did a similar analysis, using 24 points as a benchmark for a blowout loss. My reasoning was that 24 points was the maximum yield from 3 possessions. There is no bright line test for a blowout loss, so my line of reasoning is at least as credible as ESPN's.
Of course, if you use 24 points as your benchmark, the analysis shifts considerably. Weis has only 2 losses by 24 or more points, and is not on a consecutive losing streak of such losses. Willingham had 8 of those in 3 years.
Btw, Trixie, for someone who claims not to hate ND, you seem to be downright giddy at the thought of Weis falling flat on his face. If my team had done what yours has done, I'd be on top of the world right now. Certainly I wouldn't be wasting my time putting down other team's coaches.

So what do you want me to do....sit here and praise Meyer?????
Yeah....its hard enough in here as it is so no thank you. Just trying to bring up other topics.....
If you go back and read some of our conversations, ND fan was much happier with Weis than Meyer. So its only natural there will be comparisons, right?
They both took the jobs at the same time. Both bigtime programs.....ND moreso than UF. Its only natural.
Dude, its only message board crap......
