Irony with the Padres???
Tony Gwynn's son blows the save for Hoffman and hits the triple that sends the game into extras where the Padres fall to the Brewers, thus forcing this one game playoff with the Rockies. Interesting.
Yadda, yadda, yadda.

The statistical probability that Matt didn't at least graze the black part of the plate with the very outskirts of his fingertip reside somewhere in the 90 percentile. About the same zone that the ball Atkins hit being a home run lies in. I'll say....96%. (not that makeup calls ever don't suck)Mikey wrote:Thanks Trevor...for blowing two of the final three games. Nice call ump. Fucker missed it completely. I guess he wanted to go home.
RACK the Rockies. They deserve it as much as anybody. I hope they go all the way.
Both calls were very easy misses for the Umps.

And the last thing we need in the White House, in the oval office, behind that big desk, is some chicken who wants to push this yellow button.
That's too bad there is a little contraversy at the end of such an important game for both teams. The home plate ump blew the call...sucks for the Padres but Hoffman should've held that two run lead. Still, it's the ump's responsibility to be on top of things and Holliday should've been called out and the game shouldn't have ended then. Congratulations to the Rockies but I feel bad that the Padres and their fans can't feel their season should've ended when it did. Shame on the ump for screwing up a pivotal call.

WTF do you know about "statisitcal probability"?
I see what you're saying here though. The probability that he didn't actually touch the plate is about 90%. Right?

Watched parts of that game as I switched back and forth from MNF.
The intensity for a play in game was off the charts, something you don't often see in MLB baseball until it's game 7 in a playoff series, and sometimes not even then.
Props to the Rockies for a quite remarkable finish. Here's hoping you have something left... nah, you're toast.
As for the Pads and SD fan in general, that town must lead the country in sports related suicide hotline calls right about now.
Brutal.

More like "awesome."
SD sports fan has no championships and no class, yet they somehow manage to parlay that into having big fucking mouths.
I'll celebrate everything bad that happens to this group of douches from now until eternity, or when SD sportsfan gets a clue... whichever comes first... my money's on the former.
If Chargertard wants to be so fucking arrogant when they're almost winning, they deserve every freaking bit of the pile-on they get when they're in their normal state of losing.
I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one
Not an "easy" call to make by any stretch. That was a bang-bang play if there ever was one. It's easy to catch on slow motion replay.
Of course, it was super easy for Dins.
Rack the Rockies. 14 of 15 down the stretch. They deserve it.

Re-read Tardowen’s question, and tell me if it really makes sense to you.Dinsdale wrote:Goober McTuber wrote:Toddowen wrote:Has this guy ever failed not to fail when it really counts?

Maybe has something to do with Hoffman's 9.39 career ERA in the month of October?
One of the biggest chokers in MLB history.
