Cincinnati at Rutgers

Post by Bearcat92 »

Who would have thought five years ago that this game would mean ANYTHING to anyone outside of these two programs?? I know I wouldn't have. This game is huge in the Big East. The Bearcats are rolling. The offense and defense look equally dominating. I have alot of faith in this team and I think they are highly underrated right now. I'm very confident that they'll prove it Saturday night at 8:00pm on ESPN2. How cool would it be for both Cincinnati and South Florida to be undefeated heading into their game on November 3??

I think the Bearcats are going to make a statement this week.....a big statement. I think Cincinnati wins at Rutgers by at least 2 TDs. Yes, thats a big margin of victory against a top 25 team on the road but I really believe it will happen. I'll be the first one in here to admit I'm wrong if it doesn't work out that way. Either way, its nice to be 5-0 in FOOTBALL for the first time in my lifetime. It should be interesting to see how things play out in the Big East.

IN

After seeing how Maryland exposed Rutgers I would certainly not be shocked to see Cincinnati win this game by 2 TD's Go 'Cats!!

Brian Kelly is one HELL of a coach. People around here are worried that he'll bolt for a higher profile job. The popular thought is that he'll leave for Michigan if they offer him the job since he coached at Grand Valley State (I think thats where he was) and Central Michigan. He has emphatically stated that he isn't going to Michigan or anywhere else. Him and his wife love the Cincinnati area and he wants to build Cincinnati into a perennial top 25 program. With Demetrius Jones (ex-ND starter) coming to Cincinnati and eligible next year, he claims he has the perfect QB for his offense. That's what they all say though, that they have no plans to leave. Either way, its nice to have him right now.

One of my co-workers is a Central Michigan graduate and he knows some people in CMU's athletic department that couldn't stand Kelly and his ego. He'd be a great coach to remain in the Big East, but I just don't see it if a bigger opportunity arises.

kelly made it certain, without saying it bluntly, that central was only a temporary stop. his ego is the only thing stopping him, his last few years at central, he almost coached his way out of games as many times as he helped win them. i hate the man, but the dude has a damn good resume, and he made western his bitch a few times.

Correct...and that program is now a machine. The nation's longest winning streak extended to 32 games after this past week and the #1 team in D-II. Chuck Martin, Kelly's replacement, is now 42-3. They are 90-9 since the 2000 season and 89-5 in its last 94 games. Don't be shocked if you see Coach Martin getting a D-IA job just like Kelly did.

I think dude is gone if Mich offers him. Cinci is an up-and-coming program in a BCS-con without a clearcut power to overcome. It is a good gig. But Mich has as much tradition as anyone in college football, it is a huge gig. If his ego is as big as you foks say then he'll jump at the chance to be Mich's golden-boy. Coach-speak means nothing when it comes to jobs, they all say they aren't leaving.

Well, they didn't win by two or more TDs but I'll take a five point win at Rutgers any day. People have to start taking notice of the Bearcats now that they are 6-0 and own a road victory over a top 25 team. With Louisville coming to Cincinnati next week, the Cats have a real chance to move to 7-0 before visiting South Florida.

Excellent win Bearcat. I hope we can hold our end of the deal up and win out before your team comes to Tampa. I think you guys are definitely right up there as the best team in the league right now.

USF gets the nod for now with wins over Auburn and WVU. Beating Oregon State and Rutgers is good but we still have alot to prove. Congrats to your guys for the win today. Winning is all that matters and they got the W. We'll see you in two weeks :)

If you had told me a month ago that the Cincy-USF game could have not only BCS, but possibly MNC ramifications, I'd have laughed in your face. Props to both Bearcat and Mucho and your respective programs. I really hope both teams are undefeated going in.

War fuckin' parity.

Wouldathunkit that right now, there are three teams that are three unbeaten teams in the Big East and West Virginia, Rutgers and Louisville aren't in that group. By the first week in November, there will be no more than one unbeaten in the conference still standing since USF, Cincy and UConn play each other in the next few weeks.
