Showdown Saturday or whatever goofy name you want to give it
big games abound...
LSU v UF - UF losing to Auburn took some luster out of this game, but LSU I am sure will be primed and ready for this primetime showdown...I think LSU wins but will win going away late in the 4th...their defense is just too good
tOSU v Purdue - tOSU should be able to pound Purdue on the ground and the OSU defense ranks 2nd to LSU nationally. Purdue does have good skill players and Painter is a deece QB...I just think the overall physical play of tOSU will wear Purdue down. I see something like a 27-14 ish type score
Clemson v Va Tech - does anyone care? Both teams are coming off bad performances. Va Tech scraped by UNC and Clemson lost to Ga Tech. I think Clemson rights the ship.
Kentucky v South Carolina - Kentucky hasn't fucking played anyone. I look for USC to win this in close fashion.
Texas v OU - both teams coming in with a loss. I think OU has a leg up...but in a rivalry game who knows. I still like OU in this game...a close one but I like OU.
there are others and feel free to add them in a reply...

Florida @ LSU
I think the Gators head into this game pissed off about last week (both about the Allburn game and the towing incident) and some how, some way pull this thing off 17-13. Coaching will be a huge factor and I see Les Miles fucking something up big. Like being up 7-0 and going for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG. Or accidentally calling a timeout to stop the clock after an incomplete pass. Something like that. UF rolls into Baton Rouge and pulls out the rug, just like in '03.
RRS
Both teams shit the bed last week, but I still think OU is a contender. Texas has looked discombobulated in more games than just last week. They are a mess right now. I see OU taking this one and it could get ugly. Stoops has the horses to make this a route sixty-six type of game. OU-38 UT-20.
Georgia @ Tennecheats
Haven't seen too much of either team, but I gotta think Fulmer's in a tub of hot water if he doesn't pull this one out. Ainge hasn't done much this season, but I'll take the home team with the more seasoned QB. UTK-20 UGA-14.
Wisconsin @ Illinois
Some believe this is the week that Wisky gets exposed but I don't see it happening. I think UW plays that bend-don't-break kind of defense and just doesn't give up the big plays like Penn State did a week ago. And they won't help the Illini out much with turnovers. Should be a great game, but the Badgers pull away in the end. UW-27 UI-17.
tOSU @ Purdue
My heart pills should be ready by Saturday, so I'm ready for Tressel to play as close to the sweater vest as humanly possible. Purdue's offense will come out firing and they will no doubt lead at halftime. Then the Buckeye defense will shore things up in the second half. Ohio State's offense will appear to be very high school-esque the entire game. But Purdue's defense is pretty bad itself. Beanie Wells might tackle an opposing linebacker just for shits and giggles. A late turnover could be the difference in the game. I won't name the score, but the winner takes this one by a touchdown.
Iowa @ Penn State
Penn State will most likely beat the everloving fuckpiss out of the Squawkeyes. Just too many injuries right now, let alone a handful of excuses that have not yet developed.

actually the above teams are ranked, rivals, will showcase best TE combo in country, top return man in CFB(sats wise), A solid Qb, and some gamebreaking Wr, oh yeah and then there is Nebraska.Mr T wrote:^haha
I guess this matters then...
FSU vs. NCST on Regional ABC
sorry if that isn't what you feel is a quality matchup, after all, NCST and FSU should be a fucking barnbuner, a cripple fest to get to 20. a slobber knocker deluxe
Rivals? Does nebraska believe that? Mizzou has won 3 out of the last 30 meetings. Damn what a storied rivalry it is.Adelpiero wrote: actually the above teams are ranked, rivals, will showcase best TE combo in country, top return man in CFB(sats wise), A solid Qb, and some gamebreaking Wr
If you are wanting to get all homer up in this thread, then I will to.sorry if that isn't what you feel is a quality matchup, after all, NCST and FSU should be a fucking barnbuner, a cripple fest to get to 20. a slobber knocker deluxe
FSUs Coach Amato got fired from NCST last year. FSU is 4-4 against NCST in the last 8 meetings. FSU has lost the last two to NCST.
Both Neb and Mizzou will lose 3 or 4 games on the year. So enjoy that 17 ranking, I know it is a big deal for a mizzou fan to be ranked 17th.

I wouldn't say Kentucky hasn't played anyone. Arkansas and Louisville are respectable. They are a good squad but I don't know if they will take Spurrier on his home-turf. I think SC wins in a dogfight, or cockfight as this case would be.
Purdue/OSU-Until proven otherwise this is just another soft Tiller-team. OSU has a nasty D and an improving O. If Purdue pulls this off it'd be their biggest win in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time but I doubt it happens.
Cinci/Rutgers-Schiano is too good a coach to have his team come out flat twice in a row, Rutgers wins a tight one in their crib.
Va Tech/Clemson-Va Tech got destroyed by LSU and hasn't impressed in their other games. NC managed to play them close. I'm not sure what to think of Clemson. Just don't really care about this one for some reason.
RRS-OU was playing good ball before CU. Texas had already been struggling. Gotta go with OU but I don't know if they cover that big spread. Texas still has talent and they won't go down without a fight.
Georgia vs Tenn-I think this is probably Phil's last season. Maybe Tenn wins with their back to the wall but I'll say bulldogs another nail in Phil's coffin.
Wiscy/Ill-While Zook does have Ill headed in the right direction I have trouble picking him in a big game, I think Wiscy scabdicks one more out before their bubble bursts.
Mizzzou/Neb-Teams are approximately equal, our D isn't as shitty but their O is a little better. In Lincoln I'd like us. In a night-game in Columbia I gotta say the tigers
Mizzou 38
Neb 34
Iowa/PSU-Just a couple of mediocre teams with noteworthy names. But jobs are going to start being on the line, at least on the Iowa side. Ferentz himself will probably get-by but with continued crappy play he'll have to gut his staff to stay. On the PSU side it is harder to say, jobs should be on the line but Joe Pa and company have been getting a free-pass. Do the powers-that-be at PSU ever say enough is enough or will Joe Pa ever say it?

funny, the husker boards are stocked and stacked with threads about MU and their fans. The hatred for both and how they hate Misery(since season has started, and hasnt stopped). Seems to me like the rivalry is back in football. The thing missing for years was MU couldnt beat them, those times have changed!
Which is why Rivals has it as its top5 games to watch this weekend, and why ESPN took it as its Prime game.

I'm not conceding a one of them, but even if you're right, so?Mr T wrote: Both Neb and Mizzou will lose 3 or 4 games on the year.

You gots a problem with that?
Watch the game, you're bound to learn something.
Actually, it is a pretty big rivalry game, especially in the last 15 years or so that I've been watching. Granted, it's probably more of a rivalry game for MU than for NU, but only in the sense that aTm is "more" of a rivalry for Texas than is OU.Mr T wrote:Rivals? Does nebraska believe that? It's become a lot bigger in recent years, with the shift in power in the Big 12, sort of along the lines of NU having a rivalry with KSU, once NU started being challenged by KSU and eventually getting their asses kicked by them after the reverse for so long.
And let's face it, NU Fan, while optimistic, is realistic. He knows the Tigers should roll on Saturday night.
