That seems to be the general consensus from pretty much every person I talked to today, and I talked to a LOT of people today...
Like I said... Just you wait...
It appears to me that the players have subconsciously/consciously (depending on if they think they don't hate the coaches yet), but I've been reading between the lines for a long time this season that the players are telling the media exactly what the coaches tell them in practice about why they do certain things. You can tell that they don't believe it.
For a brief minute, I actually thought NU might have had a chance today when they came out jumping up and down and pumping their fists. Then I remembered who the coaches were and I quickly got back to reality. I fully expected this result. I wasn't surprised in the least. I told everyone at work before this game that we were going to get our asses handed to us.

i go back to Callahan's first spring game. #1 O against a D of half walk-ons and 3rd teamers. light em up, give the fans something to cheer about....the forward pass!
all cosmetics. has it ever changed with Bill?...image management doesn't win football games.
he looks great in that Adidas zip up jacket, with those glasses, sculpted eyebrows, calling the plays off those arcane charts.....

I'll say it over and over. I hoped that what I was seeing was improvement. The window dressing was just to get people to think that progress was happening. What wasn't apparent until now is that now that Callahan has all of his own players now, that all players that had been taught proper techniques are now gone. I guess just running through plays for 2 hours a day in order to get through that gigantic playbook leave no time for things like proper technique, game management, special teams, etc.
