The damn Illini are going to take some of the "juice" out of the game next week, so to speak.

The college football gods have taken care of it......

OSU=OVERRATED

Not anymore.......

Now Kansas can lose and we can have an Oregon vs LSU match-up. I do feel those two are the best.

Yeah....number one defense alright.....vs the 63rd ranked schedule. That stellar defense let the Illlini run out the last eight minutes of the game.....wow.....

Ron Zook gets huge win.

Nice win for the Illini...I guess it's an LSU-Oregon title game (for now). Interesting to see what becomes of Kansas tonight and the next two weeks. I think the list of contenders for the big game are down to LSU, Oregon and the winner of the Big XII. For Ohio State to lose at home, that's a worse loss than LSU's loss at Kentucky and it's about on par with Oregon losing close against Cal. I don't see the Buckeyes re-entering the discussion unless Oregon and LSU both lose a second time and the champ from the Big XII has two losses.

Agreed....one might argue that Illinois is actually the best team they have played to date and they were manhandled(on the field, not necessarily on the scoreboard).

I think you're seeing with teams like Ohio State, Arizona State and Kansas...they were able to get through the first part of their schedule unbeaten because their toughest games weren't until the end. I think it's all about when you play certain teams and when you lose in the season. LSU and Oregon lost towards the middle of the season and they've been able to recover for the most part. I think Oregon becomes the #1 in my opinion because LSU had the loss to Kentucky and followed it with two last minute wins against inferior opponents. I don't care how balanced the SEC is...LSU, if they are the best team in America, shouldn't struggle to win against teams that are not nearly as good as them.

With the Oregon-Cal game...it was a big game at the time when both were unbeaten and Cal handed Oregon their first loss but the Bears have gone on to lose three games. This loss Ohio State looks worse from the standpoint they are at home and lose to a 3-loss team that was a top 15 team at one point during the season. Had they lost to Illinois a few weeks back, I think Ohio State could've had a chance to recover and become a contender again. Instead, Ohio State has just one game left to play against another 3-loss opponent and I don't think beating Michigan in Ann Arbor this year would be enough to vault them over LSU or Oregon or any of the Big XII contenders.

Right now, we see four one-loss teams in contention and Kansas with two games left after this week with games against two of those one-loss teams. We'll find out whether or not they've been just fortunate to play bad teams up to this point in the season and stay unbeaten or if they can beat both Oklahoma and Missouri and prove they are a legitimate unbeaten. I think if they do beat Missouri and Oklahoma, I would argue for them to be in the title game over LSU because of the two late season wins over one-loss teams and for their unbeaten record as a BCS conference team. If Oklahoma wins the Big XII, I'd have a hard time putting them in over LSU or Oregon when they lost to a bad Colorado team. They've had the worst loss of the one-loss contenders. Missouri's only loss was to Oklahoma and if they beat Kansas next week and beat Oklahoma in the Big XII title game...they would've avenged their only loss and makes them a strong choice to be in the title game.

Wow....anybody that comes out of that schedule with one loss deserves to play for a title. Period. Are you calling close inter-conference games vs ranked opponents...."struggling".

Dumbest thing I have ever heard. Read it again. The SEC hate....errrr envy in here is out of hand. Now, LSU is struggling to beat teams. It's a tough conference. Wow....just wow......Big Ten homers just can't bring themselves to give credit where credit is due. I guess when your own Commish has SEC envy is comes from the head on down....

Not about joy....it was RIGHT! You may not like it or me for that matter......I didn't see it from OSU this year. They hadn't proved shit. I felt they were maybe top five but a huge question mark regardless for lack of opponents. It's settled. No big ten team should make the championship this year.

It's not like I'm telling you anything you didn't already know, right? I mean deep down inside you really didn't think this was a championship team, did you? Naw.....it was a huge surprise I'm sure to be 10-0. Looking back.....you really didn't play anybody. Better now than against Oregon or LSU. They would have beat you by a lot.

I know you just lost so telling me to go fuck myself is expected after everything I said about OSU.

Oh well......

Let me dumb this down for SEC fan. You can root for your conference being the toughest ever, but to take satisfaction at the chance of one of your main rivals "LSU" to win another NC is just stupid.

I hate USC, but fuck I did not want to see Texas win a NC, one reason........the future of your own team "recruiting"

In other words, other SEC teams winning national titles and playing in BCS games besides your team does nothing to help you.

But go on and keep convincing yourself that Florida despite their 3 losses could beat any team outside of the SEC if you want.

You don't have a clue. UF just won three fucking titles dumbass!!!! Like YOU and your opinion matter? Like mine does?

Not sure what you are bitching and crying about. Urban just won a national championship dude. It's not going to happen every year. We have had brutal injuries this year. Combine that with graduation and early departure its a tough year on defense. I'm okay with that.

Obviously, you just don't understand the import and prestige of having your conference teams play well.

I guess I'lL let one of the others explain it to you if someone is willing to spend time with an idiot.

Its pretty self explanatory but a younger less mature person would probably have trouble thinking so outside the box. Looking at the big picture.

It's so funny......some argue with me just because you can';t stand me whther you make sense or not.

Rex they may or may not have been championship quality I don't know...but they lost a TON of skill people (Ginn, Pittma, Smith, Gonzo), and some significant D Line guys and some DB's...for them to be 10-0 yeah you believe it can happen...deep down I thought this year at worst they would be 10-2...now they have a shot at 11-1 and a BCS berth (Rose)...but when you run out 10-0 yeah you think...hmmm maybe...but I am not going to make excuses about losing all the talent (like people will do)...ILL won today plain and simple...that is a very nice team...they lost THREE close games...one of which was to MIZZOu when they were driving for the winning score...so it's not like ILL is dog shit...

but yeah you said harsh things about tOSU...I wouldn't expect anything less from a fan of any other team or conference...just like when you go to the we are young card with FLA...I could pounce on you for that...but hey that's cool if it makes you sleep better at night...

now what if ILL plays UF in a bowl game (Outback)...that would be classic...

LSU, I consider a legit top 2 or 3 team...not calling them frauds but consider what is around them in the conference. How good are Kentucky, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, etc. really? Are they as good as LSU or just good enough to be able to beat them on that odd week when the Tigers don't play their A-game? LSU has emerged as the one true great team out of the conference while there are 10 teams where none of them have proved to be elite and just beat up each other. Also, how many of these teams have a quality win outside of the SEC? You can't consider the fact they've beaten up on each other and just chalk it up to fact that all 10 are very good and not one is truly better than the others.

These are the collective non-conference results against BCS schools of the pack of ten teams behind LSU...
W Georgia 35, Oklahoma State 14
L California 45, Tennessee 31
W Kentucky 40, Louisville 34
W South Carolina 21, North Carolina 15
W Auburn 23, Kansas State 13
L Florida State 21, Alabama 14
L West Virginia 38, Mississippi State 13

4-3 against non-conference BCS teams and no wins over teams that currently have more than 5 wins. What have these teams done outside of the SEC that is that impressive? Your teams have beaten other conference's average teams...congrats. If you want to talk about conference depth, you probably have that but you don't have any great teams other than LSU.

Pounce on me? I told you we have a converted TRUE FRESHMAN o-lineman playing DT because of injuries. Its almost impossible to repeat in football. I never expected it. I think I said 9-3 or 10-2 at the beginning of the year. Tough game going on right now and I do expect to beat FSU at home.

Are you kidding.....Tebow is only a true soph with Harvin. Both are back next year with some experienced defenders. UF will be in the hunt next year....I am sleeping well.....

Props to the Zooker and Illinois. Going into the season, I knew tOSU's defense was inexperienced up the middle and finally a team exposed it for four quarters. I still like this team a lot and the fact that they can make it to the Rose Bowl with a win next week makes me proud to be a Buckeye fan. Next year, tOSU should be right in the hunt again, can't wait.

Still a LOT of football to be played before any guarantees are made. This season probably has room for a few more upsets.

That says it all. This is not the basketball forum you dip shit.

You know, if there were a gymnastics forum, OU could claim some back to back to backs, same with Okie St in wrestling.

There has never been a 3-peat in CFB unless you ask Bama fan, and no suprise they are in the SEC.

I just couldn't believe the OSU defense repeatedly let themselves get Juiced on that last series. Ill did nothing but run in a situation where they were obviously trying to kill clock and OSU still couldn't stop it. Props to Zook and company on a major win. The winner of the 12 could find themselves playing for it all, thanks Ill.

I'm sure the Buckeyes will feel more comfortable next week facing a team with a statue for a QB, a straight-ahead running game and a vanilla passing game. Even though Michigan was able to figure how to beat the Illini, I still consider the Buckeyes at least a 7-point favorite going into next week.

Trix that is because your thinking is way out beyond the limits of the exoshpere.

Keep thinking you won back to back to back national titles.

Then you can sit around and talk about how grand that is with your sister Bama fan and their 8.0 x 10^11 championships.

Uh, no, tOSU wasn't "manhandled," idiot.

If Williams doesn't convert any one of those 3rd downs, they would have had to give the ball back to tOSU, and who knows what would have happened. Not to mention Tressel's timeout, which led to Illinois going for it, instead of punting. All of that shit was huge, and it all happened to go Illinois' way.

If those two teams play 10 times, tOSU wins 6 of them, at least. Especially in their own house.

Ohio State turned the ball over three times. Illinois had none, and no penalties except one, in the fourth quarter. Illinois played a perfect game, but they "manhandled" tOSU about the same way Colorado "manhandled" Oklahoma.

Legit qb's with wheels are definitely an X-factor that can change a game. Juice doing his VY-imitation is a great example. The sweater has pretty-much owned Carr, I wouldn't look for anything different next week. A 10-championship and trip to the Rose is a hell of a consolation-prize.

Actually I was just thinking we could sticky all of Trixie's SEC rants and revisit them every year. We probably all owe him an argument regarding how our conference should be able to compete with the SEC.

But really, this was a tough game. I kept thinking we were going to turn it around like we did last week. Juice played pretty well tonight and our defense looked inept. Course, the three interceptions kept them on the field and Boeckman played like a first-year QB last night. As noted, it was a great run and not too bad to be 11-1 or 10-2 after last year's run.

Zook might actually be turning things around and that's kind of scary.

Lets get it on Wolverines.

Danimal, you are alright.

If's and "who knows what would have happened".....uhhhh sure....guess what pal. We do know what happened. Bode.

Wow.....again....I'll call it the T Rex factor. Arguing with me just to argue. I watched the game dude.

I'll make this easy for those who do not understand....holding the ball for the last eight minutes.....converting 3 third downs and a fourth IS MANHANDLING you physically. If you disagree, so be it.

The illini had the ball for something like 13 or 14 minutes of the fourth quarter. 23 rushes and only 3 pass attempts.

man·han·dle (mnhndl)
tr.v. man·han·dled, man·han·dling, man·han·dles
1. To handle roughly.
2. To move or handle by manpower alone

230 yards rushing for Illinois......osu was manhandled. period.

edit: And radio.....for shits and giggles.....I looked at the stat shet for OU-CU....COlorado had 381 totals yards to OU's 230.....uhhh dude.....I think you should be quiet.....the T REX factor is causing you to talk out of your arse.....and get whacked....but continue on if you must.
