Not every team in the SEC is "great"...just a lot of good teams that will give you a tough game each week. It's parity...plain and simple. LSU was the most talented team in the conference going into the season and should've beaten every team they faced but they didn't. They don't deserve any sort of a pass...they underachieved. It's a meat-grinder of a conference but if you're the best or second best team in America, you shouldn't lose at home to a team like R-Kansas. Both losses were very close but they also had the Florida, Auburn and Alabama games go down to the wire. This was far from a dominating team this year.

Miles would be an idiot to not wanna go to Michigan where he'd play 1...maybe 2 tough games a season. The only really tough game he'd have to deal with would be in the BCS title game.
Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Looks like Michigan had at least three tough games this year. And lost all of them. Along with one they shouldn't have. And don't forget last year: 2-1 in the bowls.

I agree 100%. LSU hasn't looked like a team I'd rank #1 for the last month. But who would you put there? West Virginia maybe? Kansas and Ohio State haven't played anyone, so you can't rank them up there.

If you're a BCS conference team and win your games, you deserve consideration for the top spot. The point of the regular season is to weed out the also-rans...ie--those who don't win their games. Say what you want about their schedules but Kansas, Missouri, Ohio State and West Virginia would've gone through a conference season with one or no losses...that earns them the right to play for the national title under this system.

Had we had a playoff, you'd probably get see who is the cream of the crop on the field and not just go with the two teams with the best record. It isn't always the case the two teams in the title game are the two best teams in the country that year. In the case of this year, it's just been a game of survival. LSU played a very tough schedule and nearly made it through with a single loss but they didn't. You have to move on to other one loss or undefeated BCS teams allow them to play for the title if they win their games.

Go easy on Sam. His new favorite team lost. Now all the SEC Nuthuggers whose teams blow have to find someone else's sack to swing from.

Good luck tomorrow in that titanic struggle between The Team That Couldn't Beat South Florida At Home and The Team That Couldn't Beat Louisiana-Somebody At Home. I think both those teams are part of that SEC meatgrinder I hear so much about.

A playoff is the last fucking thing D1 needs right now. We already have tards like yourself taking up for shit teams playing shit schedules, and absolute shit scheduling is being generously rewarded this season, which is sad. But you embrace a system that not only rewards it, but actually rewards those who can't even get through a cupcake schedule?

Enjoy those LSU vs. D2 matchups... it's what you asked for, so don't bitch when you get it.

Sure, Sam. The Badgers beat the team that just beat the best you have to offer. That was second-tier?

Oh yeah, Trixie, you know what 2-1 I'm taking about.

Hey, a playoff could've given Oregon a second/third chance...doesn't that interest you at all?

If you want to complain about what it would do to scheduling...the frauds would get weeded out in the end when the conference champs play each other in the playoff. They'd play it out on the field and not leave this all up for interpretation. What's better, comparing Kansas, Missouri, LSU, West Virginia and Ohio State's resumes or just throwing them into a playoff and let the best team win? Damn, that sounds unreasonable...I'll shut up now.

Why thanks for that bit of wisdom, Marcus Allen.

Talking football with SEC BSH is much like rolling up a big ball of Silly Putty and then chucking it against the wall in a special ed classroom -- just confuses the hell out of them.

Uhm... I don't know if you knew this or not, but Florida won your conference last season.

Yet, you claim "they weren't a good team."

Then you claim the "not good team" that won out through the "meatgrinder" is in a conference that's ten times better than any other conference.

Seriously -- catching on yet, SEC Tard?

Or are the stereotypes really that accurate, and every last one of you really IS this stupid?

Quite clearly...

There's absolutely no pile of bullshit SEC BSH won't spout, no matter how incredibly retarded, to try and keep the house of cards they've built upon the foundation of their crap-spewing-mouths from crumbling beneath them.

FLorida PROVED last year that playing in a tougher conference prepared them better....to teh tune of 82 total yards for OSU.

That's complete and utter domination.

Michigan, the "other" Big 11 team was cremated and their ashes dumped in the rose bowl.

Two best teams.....two ridiculous losses. Middle tier is another story. I love it when any of you bring up 2-1 Big 11 vs SEC yet when I ask if you honestly think the Big 11 was better from top to bottom, none of you took the bait. The big 11 commish even wrote a letter whining about SEC dominance. Too funny.

I would rather see OSU play than KU or MU, that's just a joke.

As far as the playoff goes, it would not stop SEC fans bitching.

They would just blame losses on the wear and tear of the meat grinder schedule they go through and claim all the other conferences were still weaker.

The more I hear it, sounds like a woman saying to a man, you are not a woman, you don't know what it is like to have a baby, you will never know.

No shit?

I am not from the SECstrogine conference where I try and rationalize every debate with "you are not a woman you cannot understand".

Not ready for the USC love, yeah Booty looked good vs ASU and the team played pretty well but they could not generate a rushing attack and the O line is still thin and banged up. The last game there were a ton of drops and the passing attack looked horrible but the rushing attack looked good, the defense also gave up a bunch of rush yards the last game. It is possible that ASU just played in to the matchups that USC were favored in
If the Trojans can carry over the passing attack from Thanksgiving over to the UCLA game, keep up the same defensive tenacity that they had vs ASU and find the rushing attack from the games vs Cal and Ore St, then I will buy in to USC being the top team in the nation

Just curious, why are they the best now? Beating an average Cal team by a single TD makes them the best? I'd say their offense is clicking right now after seeing them rip apart in the Sun Devils in the second half on Thursday but are they the best team overall...tough to say.

Of the teams playing the best right now, I'd throw the Trojans in the discussion but I'd also put Kansas, Missouri, Georgia, and West Virginia in that discussion as well...all those teams have at least five game winning streak.
