Who cares what exhibition game they're playing in? They're still getting a nice fat cut of the Big XII bowl pie and playing in a New Years Day bowl. Under the current system, every team 3-16 in the polls is getting robbed of a chance to play meaningful games in the post season.MuchoBulls wrote:Missouri was definitely robbed. so basically the difference between conferences is negligible. thanks for clearing that up. i could've sworn, judging from your limited vocabulary - ohio st's sos, sec is so fucking tough, notre dame - that sec is a byword for nfl on saturdays. for all intents and purposes, the pac ten is the best conference in college football according to the sos rankings, so all your best team in the best conference bravado means we should have a usc/osu match up. bow down to this, princess:T REX wrote:Again, you non-reading bastard....who said wide? Why's that Goobs? You don't see us whining about it, not much anyway. If you'd have asked most any Mizzou fan before the season started, we'd have been good with 11-2 and a New Years Day Bowl game.Goober McTuber wrote:I agree. It does sorta' rankle that our arch enemy got preferential treatment, but them's the breaks. I guess the Orange Bowl committee must have thought that KU fan travels better. Mebbe so, but Mizzou sold out their allotment of Cotton Bowl tickets on the first day they went on sale, so maybe that perception will change.

If Hawaii’s got a “gimmick offense”, I think Georgia’s going to get their ass packed full of “gimmick”.

That "gimmick offense" shit cracks me up, every time.
I'm no D1 coach, but I'm pretty freaking sure the entire function of putting the offense on the field is to gain yards and score points.
And Hawaii gained yards and scored points at an alarming clip.
And I have a strange feeling Hawaii is going to face sodomy charges after what they do to UGA.

I actually watched both these teams more than once, and I just don't see it that way.
Hawaii's offense is the Real Deal, and I believe they can execute it against anybody, and will execute it qiute well against a team that's used to seeing their opponent run it straight into the line on 1st and 2nd, then try a bomb on third... then congratulate the other team for playing "tough defense."
UGA is going to be exposed. And assuming Colt Brennan doesn't get The Hardware, he'll make fools out of anyone who didn't vote for him... since he did kind of put up the biggest numbers in the history of the game.

I will wager any amount of money you want.....Hawaii was just almost plastered at home by Washington.....a piss poor excuse for a BCS team. UGA is the real deal. That run and shoot works against middle teams, not teams with speed. Richt is a decent coach and will game plan accordingly. June Jones also talked shit about the SEC. We'll see.....Dinsdale wrote:Jsc810 wrote:Unlike OU/Boise State, Georgia will remind Hawaii that they're not ready to play with the big boys.

Wait a minute...you have actually changed your stance...when I brought up that the Big 10 is 13-11 against the SEC since the BCS has been in play you said big deal SEC is the best conference hands down...but now you say head to head you can see the strength of each conference...so by your logic does that mean the Big 10 is better than the SEC since they are 13-11 vs the SEC??? This is true if you are a member of the SEC. While i said it wasn't perfect....its only fair to say as such. i won't disagree. The SEC isn't the best every year for sure. If you go back a few years I would definitely say the Big 10 was better....period. I think that happened the same year REX...plus I do know in what 99 and 2000 the Big 10 went a combined like 8 or 9 and 2 in bowl games...(I Think)
I actually think a lot of the Big 10 v SEC games have been GREAT games
Bama v Michigan (Orange Bowl)
LSU v Iowa (Cap One)
Purdue v UGA (Outback I think)
all these games were down to the wire...plus outside really of ILL v LSU in the Sugar and OSU v UF every game has been very close and competitive...I honestly think the top of each conference Big 10 and SEC could compete with each other...to me it is the middle where the Big 10 gets a little thin (unless of course Indiana and MSU make there way to more consistency year over year)...
just some thoughts...

Listened to talk radio today, and some local hack was saying there should be a national boycott of the BCS championship game and all sponsors - of course he didn't expect those fans in LA and OH to follow suit, but if the rest of the country just "didn't tune in" the NCAA would get the message and we'd get our playoff sooner than later.
