Hire Brent Venables!

I'm making a public ploy for Iowa to go after Brent Venables if Ferentz leaves. Always had a lot of respect for him and I would expect Bob Stoops to make a call to Iowa recommending him. He'd be a good fit as he has ties to Texas and he's been a long-time successful DC that's young.

Personally, I'm tired of all these Ferentz rumors and would just prefer he leave. I like him, I think he's a great coach but I'm annoyed by this crap every year. Besides, despite my respect for Ferentz, I think we need new assistant coaches and I'm sure Venables (or anyone else) would bring in his own group of coaches.

I think he's the best up and coming head coach in college football, not Bo Pelini (although I like Pelini as well).

Considering the ridiculous jack he is making for a meh product I can see Iowa-fan being annoyed about him flirting-around. You have to go back four seasons to see Ferentz get over 7-wins. I'd say he should be focusing on earning his $3million per and righting the ship.

Venables could be a solid candidate. Maybe he'd bring Sumlin with him as OC.

But I doubt Ferentz is leaving. I think he is back next year and likely puts together a solid season.

Umm.......I dunno, he's a great coach and a former Hawkeye. Dumbass.
