Week 14 Playoffs - Who do you choose and why?
Scoring is straight yardage and TDs / no points for receptions / no penalty for turnovers
* Starter for now
QB
Brady* - Sit the best QB in the league? Maybe....
Brees - Better match up - been hot lately?
RB
Steve Jackson* - No brainer
Marion Barber* Same here
Fred Taylor* - been hot lately
Kevin Jones - Was great till Lions totally abandoned the run / ugly match up vs. Dallas
Selvin Young - Damn you, Travis Henry
Maurice Morris - I forgot to waive him this week
WR
Joey Galloway* - been on fire, but Garcia is back uggghh
Steve Smith* - What a wasted # 3 pick - tough decision on starting him here
Lee Evans - Should have gotten hot by now - would start him over Smith if I had a good enough reason
Amani Toomer - picked him up cus Plax has been hurting
Chris Henry - Had a couple decent games off suspension - then has disappeared
Biggest questions -
QB? Brady vs. # 1 defense or Brees vs. Falcons
# 3 RB - Hot Freddie split touches or Kevin Jones the iceman
WR - pick 2 of the 5 - I'm not sold on any of 'em
FFL Roster Questions
The Brees/Brady situation is pretty interesting. You have the luxury of one game being played before the other. I'd wait on the weather conditions for the Pats-Steelers game. If it isn't adverse conditions, I don't see why starting Brady against the Steelers is a bad idea. Polamalu is banged up and you don't think the Pats would love to pick on Smith? With Brees, Bush is hurt so the emphasis will lean more on the passing game and as you said, he's been very good of late.
If I was choosing, I would stick with the safe pick with Brady because that game should be tight to the end and Pats won't have to take their foot off the pedal. He's been for 250-300 yards and 2-3 TDs easy...that's usually good enough numbers from the QB spot to put you in a position to win. The Saints should beat the Falcons easily but turn to the run late in the game so he might only get you points for 3 quarters. If anyone hasn't done it yet in their leagues...go snag Aaron Stecker with Bush possibly being done for the season.
I'll give you the homer take on Kevin Jones vs. Fred Taylor...the Lions will be behind most of the game which means passing, passing and more passing from Martz. Jones will get more than a handful of carries this week but it won't be many more. Williams isn't playing but I'm sure Kitna will get the ball to Johnson, Furrey and McDonald if he's not planted in the turf. You'll be wise to avoid KJ this week against Dallas.
