pretty good opportunity for him. my curious side, might have liked to have seen him as single OC and calling plays for OU had Wilson moved on....just to see. no complaints with Wilson really, just curiousity. kind of interesting that Sumlin has never been even a solo OC to my knowledge.....he closed out RC's career at ATM if i remember but that's it. i do know he called the plays in the 02 Aggie win at ATM over #1 OU/the Reggie McNeal play-action deep game.
good opportunity. a program that if he wins 7-8 game a year a couple years in a row he'll be real marketable to a quality BCS job (i still think Briles to Baylor is a head-scratcher). and there should be some talent in place to do that. it's not a no-hoper. and i bet he'll recruit the hell out of Houston/Louisiana as a younger black coach with a a quality track record and experience at ATM and OU.
Kevin Sumlin to Houston

I like this move for both involved.
Sumlin seems like a good coach that just needed an opportunity to shine. When he got the keys to car at ATM he kicked ass, and he can recruit.
He's going into a situation where he has a good opportunity to win and propel himself forward like Briles did. Though hopefully he'd get a program with a better shot at success than Baylor.
