Is there a difference between the spread and the spread option?

yes or no?

What's even funnier is you implied I meant UF with the Tressel comment and now you are going to that card that i changed it after I said the spread vs spread option. You fucking whiny cunt. You say one thing then try to imply another. Funny, you CLEARLY say I meant one thing but with the "spread" I suddenly changed my tune. You fucking pussy. Gawd, you must be the biggest pussy on the face of the planet.

Fucking whining bastard, unbelievable.

Unsufferable after UF got over on you.....now Weis is failing miserably....unsufferable.......

Oh, well that's different. You said they were soon to be 0-9 in title games. When in reality they're soon to be 2-1. Run along now, little tardling.

One shitty year and Weis is failing miserably. Great call, per usual Trixie.

And the Option is a part of the spread offense, idiot. It's like running the option out of the I-formation. Not that I would expect you to understand the difference.

Never said that.....you can't even claim I did. Its a reference to another thread where this same arguement went down.

Considering it wasn't for you, of course you misunderstood. Buckeye fan knew what i was referencing. That's what you get for butting in jerk off. Good job!

Actually its run out of the shotgun. A few people have reffered it as a variation of the veer. I have done some research on what he does or tries to do. If you want to have this conversation please....by all means....let's go.

Cry me a fucking river. OSU fan is a whining cunt these fays. Probably from getting beat in every title game they appear in.

0-9 coming soon.......
Anyone reading that would have to think that you're saying tOSU will soon be 0-9 in title games. That is what you said, regardless of what you think you meant, you whiny little bitch.

I'm just trying to help you with your writing skills.

That's exactly my point. The spread option, is a version of the spread, which is run out of the shotgun. Like I said, it's like running the option out of the I-formation. It's a part of the offense, but not the whole thing. A team that runs the option out of the I can take a running QB and run more option than then passing, or they can get a drop back QB and pass more than they do run the option. It's the same in the spread.

The basic concept of the offense is to create mismatches on the outside with your skill position players and allow the QB to distribute the ball into the weak parts of the defense. The one thing the spread is good at doing is tipping off where the pressure is coming from the defense. Teams that don't have the athletes typically have to match up on each player, not allowing them to disguise where a blitz is coming from. Teams with supperior athletes (especially at OLB and S) can stay in a typical base package and create confusion.

Any coach who runs the spread can take it either way, and Rodriguez went the direction of the option. And for such a "great hire", much of his success went hand in hand with the arrival of Pat White/Steve Slaton, and the defection of BC, VaTech and Miami into the ACC. He is a solid coach, but much remains to be seen. No matter what type of spread variation he decides to run at Michigan, there will be an adjustment period because of the offensive lineman on UofM's roster.

Hey - PSU ended up 9th, I think. Stats are...stats. PSU had a nice statistical year against the Florida Internationals of the world...but appeared to take a big step back defensively against decent teams. No top 10 defense surrenders a 17 point lead and lets MSU walk up and down the field on them. If it weren't for Mo Evans (a tremendous DL prospect), PSU would have lost to IU, because of an absolutely porous defense.

WVU might look good stats-wise...but they had some rough weeknights (yes, that's Big East ESPN Weeknight smack) on the defensive side of the ball. WVU had an awful night offensively against Pitt, and they ended up losing. I'd be hesitant to conclude that RR is a bad coach as a result.

As for changing UM's traditional offensive approach...not to speak for UM fan, but isn't it past time to do that already?
Yea but the D wasn't abysmal as many would argue.

Interesting......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offensive_ ... ootball%29

"The success of the offense depends on creating mismatches (a linebacker covering a receiver), the ability for the quarterback and the receivers to find holes in the zone, and defensive breakdowns in the secondary (the receiver and quarterback both read that the safety will not rotate over to help the cornerback, so the receiver breaks to the outside or up the sideline with single coverage). Few defenses are able to cope with a well-executed spread run-pass threat, which is one reason why football scores have been rising in recent years."

Nice of you to change a few phrases. You plagerizing SOB. I'll let your peers decide if you paraphrased that shit.

What a fucking fuck. I call bullshit.

tOSU is 1-1 in MNC games under Tressel
tOSU is 1-0-1 all time v LSU

carry on...

You're right twat bitch, I copied the whole thing from Wikipedia. I didn't get it from following football and watching different offenses over the past 20 years.

The spread offense is this era's version of the wishbone or the veer. It's designed to take advantage of a defenses weak point. Despite what you think, this isn't fucking rocket science.

Believe it or not, most people know a lot about football and don't need a fucking website to figure out a basic concept.

Just know that whatever you want to talk about w/r/t college football, I will know my shit. Any time you want a shot at the title, try and take it.

Folks like to berate RR's defenses, but other staffs have recognized his innovative defensive approaches, and they've been sending their assistants there to learn in recent years. With much better defensive talent at his disposal, look out.

I'm officially jealous, UM fan. You guys are headed confidently into the 21st century, while our program is still skeptical of the innovations of the 20th.
RR doesn't use an original or innovative defense in the least. It's OU's defense without the talent. RR and yis staff have been out to Norman for the spring and learning our defense for 3 of the last 5 years. This sort of worries me for the Fiesta Bowl.

Dayum Trixie, why the melt at the mention of the Buckeyes? It's not like UF lost to them last season.

What happened? Did you come home one day and find Brutus Buckeye laying pipe to a family member or something?

No we dont.

Do some research before going apeshit.

FSU has been investigating this for a while. At first they thought it was just 23 student-athletes period, with only a few being football players. After investigating they found that 20 football players were cheating. After finding this out, they are giving suspensions. They are getting longer suspensions than a gate player would get for shooting a AK in a public place or savagely beating a frat boy with a keg along side your Head coach or breaking into a tow service or ect ect

Heard on the radio this morning that Rodriguez is blowing out the entire assistant coaching staff in Ann Arbor. No word on if they'll be re-interviewed for their own jobs or if it'll essentially be the entire West Virginia staff coming with Rodriguez to Michigan.
