Thoughts from Orlando.....

Post by WolverineSteve »

I had to go. I thought I'd go to offer Lloyd a fond farwell, maybe see the boys play a spirited game and keep it close. What I saw was DOMINATION. If Mike Hart plays like Mike Hart, Michigan blows up the scoreboard with nearly 60.

How does this UF offense score so much in the vaunted SEC? Tebow left, Harvin sweep, Harvin screen, repeat...very basic offense. I think Harvin is UF's best player.

Tebow wears Lloyd Carr pajamas.

Florida did deliver the hottie factor as expected. Nice selection of high quality co-ed ass was on display all day.

I could have done without Rich Rodriguez being at the game. I'm sure he could have thought of a better way to spend his last day of unemployment. That said, welcome aboard RR, now get to work.

If UM was more aggressive on offense all along, would this have been Lloyd's swan song? Yesterday showed everyone what great offensive weapons UM has had all along. Whenever he's let the horses out of the barn, it's been fun. RR had to be salivating watching the top flight talent on display.

Why were there so many Buckeye fans in attendance? I don't get this. I saw at least 50 OSU honks sporting gear. What could their motivation possibly be? There was a group set up at our parking lot tailgating. 6 or 8 of em. I told them that they were like a bad case of herpes. Flaring up just when you think your in for a good time. This was met by a huge round of laughs and applause from UM and Gator tailgaters alike...Rack me. But seriously, what the fuck was osu fan doing there? Help me out guys. After the game there were 2 osu guys in particular going up to UMfans saying "Michigan sucks, but go Big10 !" and offering high-fives. I told him to fuck off and reminded him how OSU handled UF last year... Rack me again. Is there any wonder why buckeyefan is considered the worst in the land? Save your "every school has their share of assholes" takes. I didn't see any FSU gear or any of UF's rivals at the game.

Sparty fan...answer me this? What's up with Johnny Spirit? Why was he at the game? Is he some cracked out loser that had been asleep since the BC game at the same stadium last week? I've seen him at UM/MSU games since the mid-80's, dudes got to be in his 40's, so what's his deal? I yelled to him to pick a major and get on with his life, green paint on old saggy man tits is not a good look...Rack me.

Sam, JSC, SECBSH, Michigan would do just fine in the SEC. I've personally seen wins vs Forida (twice), Arkansas, Auburn, and Alabama. So take your "speed" takes and kindly shove them up your asses. We've got our problems and challenges, dealing with SEC speed aint one of them.

So long Lloyd. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't welling up as the offense lined up in victory formation to kneel down. All the shit Carr's dealt with, some of his own fault, to go out with a nice win like this was special. Good for him.

How long until spring practice?

Wow, great read Steve.

All jokes aside, college football will miss Lloyd Carr. Michigan will not be the same without him.

Herpes? Huh, I don't get it. Must be an inside joke.

I'm just glad UM didn't get destroyed in the Rose Bowl again.

As for the OSU fans at the game, maybe they just wanted to see Florida lose to a plodding big10 team.

So where was this team the rest of the year? They finally looked like the team that was a preseason top-5. Better late than never, hell of an exit for Carr.

that's not interesting. he basically waited two weeks for other writers to lay out retarded points for him to parrot. omg, a coach left behind a program he built to coach one of the most prestigious programs in all of college football! and it's obvious the only reason he considered the bama job the year before was to leverage more money out of his poor university. i'm pretty sure that traitorous jim tressel told his players he was fucking out once osu came calling.

though perhaps the guy's sentiments are to mourn the passing of an era in college football that he can pretend is nearly dead. carr's one of the last of his era, yes, but stoops, tressel, carrol, meyer, leavitt, and perhaps a handful of others [richrod, yo] are more than capable of carrying that torch once joepa and bobby up and die, that aggie call leader notwithstanding. nearly the rest of the coaching community will continue the lip service till those others retire and their jobs open up.

i'm pretty sure richrod had some sort of influence on both debord and english, otherwise we would've been dropping 12 into zone coverage 30 yards downfield so not to get burned. granted, michigan gave up 35 points, but they were able to dominate during the critical moments.

it also helps that michigan's a big time college program and our players finally realized they're allowed to use the time that's meant for class to learn how to actually tackle.

it's also fair to point out that michael hart's ankle is gay and that henne had about two tendons holding his right arm on for half of october and all of november. oh, and that mike debord can have sex with a shallow, unmarked grave.

This sounds like a desperate fan who is hoping RR can play savior......Charlie Weis much? RR did well in the Big East....lets see how he does in the Big10 w/ some of the more strict academic restrictions.

those last two posts sound like desperate fans who see the writing on the wall. nice try with that academic quip. it's michigan. it's also an amazing coincidence that rr takes the michigan job and three weeks later michigan tackles its first-ever mobile qb.

Settle down all, this was a clear case of a team rallying behind it's leader. Say what you want, Lloyd was a molder of men and will be missed by CFB and UM. Lloyd stood for integrity, discipline, and honor among teamates. His message could be well served in many programs today. Michigan is a different place absent Lloyd Carr, I hope Rich is up to the daunting task.

im with you steve. Michigan rallied around lloyd.

and its not like michigan has never beaten a mobile QB. they beat the ilini this year..

i hope RR brings michigan back.. the game isnt any fun when the other team isnt competitive. a competitive michigan makes OSU force itself to be better and the b10 as a whole to be better..

Stating that UM tackled Tebow becaue RR is involved with the program is a stretch at the very least. How about a senior class not wanting to end every season with a pair of losses. How about being a double-digit underdog. How about playing for your coach and his final game.

Implying that Carr brought in RR in the last week before the game to ask advice requires a huge imagination. First of all, the assistants knew they were going to be fired, so why would they feel too inclined to listen to him. Secondly, what kind of amazing knowledge is RR going to impart on the coaches and team in one week to stop superman unless they already had it in them?

Again, this sounds an awful lot like Weis and the ND fans. Saviors must prove themselves before you convince the rest of us he was the key to this dramatic win and will lead to future changes. And lets be honest here, he (and Petrino) had great success in the Big East--lets see what they do in real conferences.

in response to someone mentioning that michigan actually looked like a good team, i wrote:

i don't know where you're pulling out 13-0 from here on out, motherfuckers! if michigan coaches already had a working knowledge of how to contain a qb who can both run and pass, i'm sure they would've done away with their sit back and take it strategies around 1999 or so. it's hardly bordering on fantasy to assume a man credited as one of the primary architects of the modern spread might have said to someone on the current coaching staff that, look, i designed this sort of offense, and your stubborness is going to net the same result; consider this suggestion...

i also made a couple of other points about why michigan looked like an entirely different team than it has all season, one being health and the other quality tackling, a big problem in recent years. as far as the players getting up for the gipper and not wanting to go out losers, yeah, but i'm fairly certain they didn't take those rose bowls against usc very lightly. a lot of things came together in that game coaching and personnel-wise, not to mention a joke of an opponent.
