Warren Zevon

Post by RumpleForeskin »

I just got my external HD back today with 35,000 songs added to it. I came across Warren and just been listening to him all day long. Rack the fuck out of the opening verse to Werewolves In London...

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain

I can think of a lot of Zevon songs more worthy than "Werewolves".

Like all of them.

Uh, yeah.

RF, a few suggestions for you:

1) STOP LISTENING TO FM RADIO

2) any song you hear on fm radio and think it's sweet? there's a 1,000 better songs by that same artist that the ones that are constantly shoved down your throat on fm radio.

3) STOP LISTENING TO FM RADIO

trust us on this. your horizons will expand exponentially and you will wonder why you ever listened to commercial fm radio in the first place.

Listen you ignorant old fucks, I am 29 years of age and you should be so lucky that I do not conform to the social mean of my generation in reference to musical taste. I happen to like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Mountain, Hall & Oates, Steeley Dan and so on and so on...

The only time I've ever heard Werewolves of London was in the movie Color of Money and that is it. I had no idea it was a "mainstream" tune back in your hay day because I DON'T listen to FM radio, jackass.

Go fuck yourselves.

You're also a fucking moron.

Jackson Browne did "Lawyers in Love".

You might want to hit the ol' Google when you're talking about shit you obviously know nothing about.

Okay, cheesedick. Whatever you say. I never claimed to be an astute fan of the genre. I knew Zevon sang a tune with "Lawyers" in the title 'cus I fucking listened to it yesterday. Fuck off you incessant twerp.

Exactly what genre would that be? Please do elaborate.

RumpleMeltySkin much?

Considering that Zevon's catalog is 20 albums deep, I'm guessing he used a lot of words in the titles of his songs.

But hey, limited props for starting to listen to something other than The Counting Crows.

Ahh, another fat joke from PUSFAG.

Dude, you're just a regular Melville with all that vesatility and stuff.

Seriously,

A thread created to rack Warren Zevon and this is the response I get for the tune I chose to rack. You limpdicks are relly splitting hairs now. It could've been much worse you know, I seriously contemplated for a good 30 seconds whether I should start a thread about Buckcherry or not.

When an artist has 20 albums worth of material to choose from and you just happen to link up to the only song of those 20 albums to get substantial airplay, you look like a fuckin poser. Deal with it.

I saw a Flabalanche with a Chinese menu in her hand
Waddling through the streets of Houston in the (smog?)
She was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get herself a metric ton of beef chow mein

If you hear her howling around your kitchen door
Better not let her in
Little old lady got masticated late last night
Rumplebeasts of Houston again

She's the rippling tsunami of flab who ran amuck in Waco
Lately she's been overheard in Austin
Better stay away from her
She'll cut in line at the Buffet, Jim
I'd like to meet her nutritionist
Rumplebeasts of Houston

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with Mt. Rumplebeast
Doing the
I saw Ken Lay walking with the Rumplebeast

I saw a Human Weeble drinking a PissBeer Lite at Trader Vic's
Her hair was perfect

Dude, I know I can't convince you but this was the "logic" behind my original post. This is the playlist I created on my ipod yesterday:

Werewolves of London - Zevon
The Envoy - Zevon
Numb as a Statue - Zevon
Lawyers, Guns, and Money - Zevon
Jeannie Needs a Shooter - Zevon
A Little Bit O'Soul - Music Explosion
Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon - Urge Overkill
Mary Had a Little Lamb - SRV
...
...
...

It was the first song on my playlist when I pulled my Ipod out to make the post. I'm honest when I tell you I had NO idea the order of popularity of Werewolves of London when I made the post, hence the verse drop following. I have only heard that tune on Color of Money

You're helping your cause when you fess up to watching Tom Cruise movies.

No really you are.

Just fess up and admit that you wanted to go to that Miss America party.

You probably left them on the dresser, right next to your eyeglasses before your first date with Mt Rumps at the buffet.

I was contemplating a Mr Rumps parody after the Counting Crows card was dealt from the bottom of the deck, but that song has no cadence whatsoever (possibly even worse than Buckcherry's effort), so I bailed.

You know I'm going to tap that tonight and the next night and the night after. I'm going to have as much sex as I possibly can before I turn 30 on Friday. I heard its not the same when you're not in your twenties. Can any of you remember back that far? If not, maybe a Chaplin film will jog the noggin.
