Even more importantly, the IRL WON. Those pompous rat bastards that ran in CART/Champ Car tried to price themselves right out of the sport. Tony George's whole idea with the IRL was to standardize chassis and engines to keep costs down, and he won out which is good for everybody associated with open-wheel racing in this country.
