Louisville is being held for questioning...

Post by the_ouskull »

NCAA Tournament, Round 2 - Birmingham, AL: The Louisville basketball team is being held for questioning following allegations of sexual assault by the Oklahoma basketball team. When asked to comment, the Louisville basketball team simply walked off of the court smugly. The Oklahoma team, however, WAS willing to comment following their 2nd Round game this afternoon. It had this to say:
My asshole! It hurts! Owie!
As of press time, there are no other suspects being questioned. We'll keep you informed of any further updates.

Congrats, Wags. Good win.

Arkansas can commiserate.

Thankfully, CBS switched over to the MS State - Memphis game early on so I didn't have to watch the total ass raping of a fellow XII school.

anybody who didn't see that coming was in the dark.

Bad matchup for OU. Oklahoma's guard play is at a minimum. they almost lost to Missouri in Norman (pressure) and nearly whiffed against Colorado (Marcus Hall and Rich Roby beat "us" off the dribble all day long).

Louisville's shit FT % doesn't even hurt. Cards could have easily won by 40. the fact that they even played this game means the season is a success for OU.

this is a team that shoots less than 45% from the field, i'd say, most of the time. hard to win when you can't make shots.

This OU team was clearly double digits worse than every top 10-15 team they played, today was no different. while OU had some respectable wins, got pasted by UT three times and KU could have named the score in Larry. Lost to Memphis by double digits.

Oklahoma was a pretty average team all year, and did more with less IMO.

Exactly...

But we did deserve to be in the tourny! Sure beat up on a sweet 16 team and darn near knocked off the #2 overall seed on the road during the season along with having one of the best RPIs in the country. So you can kiss my ass M.

And King I don't know if you saw the Memphis but I certainly did. Memphis stretched the lead in the last 2 minutes when we were fouling. We played a damn good game against them.

mos def OU 08 was a tournament team, and tough out (most nights). this team was confusing and some nights where they just flat out sucked. i just think for whatever reason there is a big drop-off from Oklahoma to the top 10 teams of the world. if this OU team has proven anything, it's that we play to level of opponent....EXCEPT really good teams. i never really felt like we were a threat to beat Memphis.

equal talent, we're money to bet. play down (Colorado twice), we can do that too. but, top tier, we can't do that. back to what i say, no real guard pay on either end, bad FT shooting, and mediocre overall FG %. when we lose, Crocker disappears and (also) we get no penetration from the guards. it's pretty formulaic.

all things being equal, making the tournament and beating St. Joe's make this year an unqualified success. wasn't exactly smoke and mirrors but it was close.

actually, the only thing i know about college basketball is that i love college football, which is played before hockey season. michigan's the 1 seed...

i figured someone would respond. just fishing. michigan was invited to the 1998 ncaa tournament. so was eastern michigan.

you wanna elaborate on this argument or are you just runnin fun at SCS?

because by any conventional measure, Oklahoma DID belong in the tournament field. and they also won a game which would seem to disprove the notion they don't belong by lessoning a team that apparently did.

Name even ONE team that didn't get in that deserved to be there more than Oklahoma! Until that day comes (which I'm sure it won't because you'll get plastered by more than just me here) sit back and turn a hockey game on.

Ask West Virginia fan if Oklahoma deserved to be in the tourny, ask Arkansas fan, ask Texas A&M fan, ask Gonzaga, heck even ask Memphis fan!

Louisville got the better of us, as any reasonable Oklahoma fan expected. Am I disappointed in the final score? Hell Yes I am! Am I disappointed in this season or think that we aren't easily one of the best 34 teams in the country? Not a bit and in the words of Bob Stoops: certainly! And our season indicates it!

Shush up SCS and be more careful what you ask for.

skull started this thread as a light hearted attempt to get over OU fan's disappointment and humiliation... it was working pretty well... so quit embarassing the chilly fanbase. Just take your lumps and move on.

Btw, Mclub... a minimum of 6 XII teams are always going to get in regardless of merit or result. Business as usual.

LOL at Missouri fan. resentment much? too bad none of the shit conference teams that went 5-1 in the first round weren't wearing Old Gold. cry a little more about merit. great argument you got going.

King Crimson, from whence did you take that nic?

resentment and crying weren't there, so how in hell do arrive at that conclusion?

And I wasn't arguing a damn thing. I'll let you know the next time I decide to argue, since apparently some things seem to fly right bye.

one late night in 01 i was reading soonerfans.com what we now refer to as the Invisible Thread and it so motivated me to register and post and King Crimson was the first thing that came to mind. and, i wanted to increase my cred with the prog rock contingency. i registered the same at one of the smack chat boards after seeing that PSUfan had a Mission of Burma sig-line at the time (and thought, these guys must be pretty cool)....and stuck with it.

prior to: i was posting variously at sf.com, the old Road Warrior site, OUSOTI, whatever Sooner Times was called then (minister's board), and boomersooner.net under a couple handles. trolling CU boards (which i still do). one of my trolls at netbuffs.com was in contention for a board vote on moderators a couple years ago. i almost cried.

ya, see now Mizzou is a football school. next MU "football" fan will tell us (again) about how they "shoulda" won the game in Norman, when they were down by 3 scores in the last 5 minutes. this is a masterpiece of logic i've yet to understand. that proved out in the Big XII championship game, didn't it?

Yeah the Big 12 title in football is Misery's for the taking according to Wags.

Wtf are you still banging those worthless pots and pans?

You remember this epic thread?

Well let me refresh your memory:
fwiw Soonerfan, at least this Mizzoufan doesn't buy into that "we gave it away" nonsense. We got thumped in the 4th qtr. when it mattered most. OU took it, and it was like stealing candy from a baby.
See KC, "this" Mizzoufan would indicate yours truly, who also happens to be the ONLY Mizzoufan posting in THIS thread.

Light coming on yet? Probably not, since you seem to be really fucking dense (or just extremely bitter for no apparent reason) at times.

I suggest you go back and re-read that entire thread. Good stuff all around, for the most part.

At least you were wise enough to ignore the fact we have bode in both sports.

Mizzou fan talking trash in any meaningful sports to Sooner fan is absolutly laughable.

How about try following your own advice on the exact same thread you sited...
War Wagon wrote:Ouch, that really hurts.

Congrats and props to the Oklahoma Sooners. You own Mizzou, and are still King of the Hill.

No bitterness, recriminations, or excuses from this keyboard. We got stomped, and the much better team won.

This would be a really excellent time for me to go dig a hole and crawl into it for awhile.

The time to crawl from that hole has long since past.

And then we have this.
SunCoastSooner wrote: Mizzou fan talking trash in any meaningful sports to Sooner fan is absolutly laughable.
Again, THIS Mizzoufan, and all on this BOARD, haven't been talking ANY trash whatsoever to Soonerfan's. Yet is seems we aren't even allowed to breathe in certain OUfan's direction w/o them getting all huffy.

No, try that and you'll go find some juicy tidbit posted on Tigerboard months ago and paint every last Mizzou fan on the planet with the same brush.

Quite the defensive, bitter little putz's some of you OU fans can be. Thankfully, you're far outnumbered by your bigger brothers. Fear not, SCS and KC. One these days if you work really hard, you might get to wear the big boy pants around the SoonerNation tailgate party. For now though, you should stick to fetching beers.

You have yet to see me get huffy; I haven't gone Adel on you yet in the least yet... :logan:

I guess my degree, contributions in multiple sports (especially minor sports such as the wrestling program and Men's gymnastics), and season tickets on the 48 yard line don't "qualify" me for the "the big boy pants"; so why don't you enlighten us all what qualifies you as a Big boy for Misery? Ya know with Blues Hockey being so much more important than the Big 12 title game and all in your book. :meds:
