Re: Charlton Heston dead at 84
fuck no.
With the millions of guns available, leave his in his crabbed knarled claws.
That way he gets his wish, yet STILL no one gives a fuck, and nothing has been accomplished when it comes to reducing unnecessary gun violence.
So of course the gun problem remains, but at least moses, moses, the name of moses, will be spoken again.
So let it be written, so let it be done.
Lord, here comes the flood. Time to say goodbye to flesh and blood.

all respect to the dead, we're all going there someday. does anybody really believe he was a "great actor". the best movie he was ever in was Touch of Evil (where he played a mexican!). Ten Commandments is sorta lame. Planet of the Apes, OK. maybe.
otherwise, show me some greatness on this list: he WAS on Seaquest. a lot of TV shit. and i mean "shit".

no offense to NRA people, but the death of Chuck Heston is hardly the death of art itself. i know we all need more strapping, well-hung Republican "art" to offset the lack of it and hardy fags like George Clooney.
otherwise, show me some greatness on this list: he WAS on Seaquest. a lot of TV shit. and i mean "shit".

Heston has to his credit "The Ten Commandments", "Ben Hur", "The Buccaneer", "The Greatest Show On Earth", the first 2 "Planet of the Apes" movies, "Soylent Green", "Omega Man", "Midway" and "Airport 1975". And those are just the ones I have personally seen. IMO, not a dud on the list. I hardly think that the death on any actor rates as "the death of art itself". But it is certain that Heston's style was unique in his time and not likely to be duplicated ever.King Crimson wrote:all respect to the dead, we're all going there someday. does anybody really believe he was a "great actor". the best movie he was ever in was Touch of Evil (where he played a mexican!). like i say, Touch of Evil is the best movie he was ever in.

Sure, pry the gun from his dumb puppet hands. He lived and died a total fool. And like a fool with money--who's allowed to live on, he became a dangerous Bible beating lunatic in the direct service of the ZioNazi apartheid state nightmare known as Israel.
Now look closely, you wet-eyed brats....
Here is a list of the ZioNazi dual-citizens in the Bush administration. Several have of course since resigned in disgrace, etc.
Michael Mukasey
Michael Chertoff
Richard Perle
Paul Wolfowitz
Lawrence (Larry) Franklin
Douglas Feith
Edward Luttwak
Henry Kissinger
Dov Zakheim
Kenneth Adelman
I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby
Robert Satloff
Elliott Abrams
Marc Grossman
Richard Haass
Robert Zoellick
Ari Fleischer
James Schlesinger
David Frum
Joshua Bolten
David Wurmser
Eliot Cohen
Mel Sembler
Steve Goldsmith
Adam Goldman
Joseph Gildenhorn
Christopher Gersten
Mark Weinberger
Samuel Bodman
Bonnie Cohen
Ruth Davis

Re: Charlton Heston dead at 84
Who gives a shit? He's wormfood now, and his acting style was duplicated during his own time by other prominent actors of that day like Kirk Douglas, John Wayne, Chuck Connors, perhaps not exactly but certainly in the same general style, but who would want to bother duplicating it now?But it is certain that Heston's style was unique in his time and not likely to be duplicated ever.
Slightly over dramatic and stiff in historical reenactments. Did he even have an acclaimed role in the last 40 years?
If he had pulled off a comedy role with the same success as the 10 commandments I'd say he'd be a more complete well rounded actor, but if it wasn't for the 10 commandments and his over the top leadership as the NRA spokesman I'm not so sure he'd be all that.
Re: Charlton Heston dead at 84
Mike Moore's visit to Chuck was pretty funny.
Heston was a guy you laugh at, not with.
I always preferred Sterling Hayden, anyway.

Potato Salad
Now let me see motherfucking John Wayne RAP, much less play a citizen of Rome.
Acclaimed by who? Film critics? If I ever give a shit what some ambiguously gay film critic has to say, it will be time to mix me into Soylent Green.Slightly over dramatic and stiff in historical reenactments. Did he even have an acclaimed role in the last 40 years?
Who the fuck was talking about "well rounded"? I was just saying that I've seen 10 of his movies and liked all of them and that his style was unique. Sure he was over dramatic. That was his job. He was Charlton Fucking Heston, the guy who saved MGM and the man Cecil B DeMille chose to play Moses. If anyone had a right to be "over dramatic" it was Heston. If he had pulled off a comedy role with the same success as the 10 commandments I'd say he'd be a more complete well rounded actor, but if it wasn't for the 10 commandments and his over the top leadership as the NRA spokesman I'm not so sure he'd be all that.

I don't have a problem with guns or gun ownership, the problem is when they're acquired and used for the wrong purpose and the police are helpless / useless to stop it.
Perhaps you'd feel differently if you had a family member shot dead in the street so some useless thug can get his gang tat.

If they didn't have such easy access to illegal weapons or if the shooter could not remain so anonymous, they would just be street thugs with fists and knives. It's a little harder to kill someone with a drive by punching.mvscal wrote:

Deprive them of oxygen? Well, we have to actually be allowed to do that first.
hmm, lessee. The Police have guns, but they can't use them to stop gang killings or they are taken off the force.
The private citizen can have guns, but if they use them, they could die or be jailed for attempting to defend themselves.
The gang members have guns, and they use them at will, with no regard for human life, with the only consequence being that if they get caught, they get three meals and a cot at the expense of the taxpayer.
The problem may not be directly the weapons themselves, but the weapons themselves are certainly a big part of the overall problem.

If every White person was allowed to carry a weapon there would be a hell of a lot less White victims of violent crime
Do you really want your bitch girlfriend or wife carrying a hand gun when she decides to go off on you about something that happened 8 months ago, that you don't remember?
This time when she throws something at you... it's gonna be bullets.
Women don't really use rationale when they're angry.

If people were able to get a gun legally without all this Clinton bullshit that makes something that only takes five minutes take a year and a load of hassle. These gangs will think twice before starting shit with someone that could shoot them and thus make society better. Besides if you get rid of the guns the Mexos will just cut up the innocent people, and preferrably id rather be shot than sliced.
Just sayin.

Heston had a couple of good roles but was overrated in general. Too bad he got himself tangled up with the gun crazies in his later years because I feel it tarnished his legacy. Some people just can't see the forest through the trees. Guns kill and we just don't need them. Look around the world and you'll see other countries without guns having much less killing going on than America does. And America is supposed to be some sort of superpower? Sorry. Not when you can't even keep your own citizens from blowing each other away. It's sickening.

I gotta admit I wasn't that impressed. But I'm never awestruck by celebrity. The way I see it, 100 years from now, we're all going to be shriveled pieces of jerky in fancy boxes. So why should I be green with envy?
