Kansas St to join the SEC?

Post by SoCalTrjn »

• Kansas State paid a quarter-million dollars to avoid a game against Fresno State. That's a Big 12 team paying $250,000 to cancel a home game against a WAC team. Of course, said WAC team whacked K-State 45-29 last year. In need of a replacement opponent, K-State offered $350,000 to Montana State, a Division I-AA program that went 6-5 in 2007. Meanwhile, Fresno State raised its level of competition by replacing Kansas State on its schedule with Rutgers.

Prince is desperate to hold onto his job. First he signed like 20 JUCO-recruits, KSU has traditionally taken a good amount of JUCO's but 3/4 of the class. That is obviously a shortsighted move. Then he gets rid of Fresno so they can pad noncon sched in hopes that the JUCO-help will come-together for con-sched. Ducking freaking Fresno? Gimmie a break.

Neb has a couple creampuff scheds in the years to come that I am definitely unhappy with but even we aren't buying our way out of contracts to make our scheds easier.

Prince will do anything it takes to eke-out a winning season and save his ass. I think they will probably go 6-6 and he will probably be gone unless KSU is really short on cash or prospects. I still don't see why they didn't take Patterson from TCU. He has KSU-history and is a solid coach.

He's simply carrying on the legacy of Bill Snyder. Nothing to see here.

The SEC offered honorary membership. It appears that SEC ADs regard Snyder as their main mancrush.

The way I heard it was that the SEC withdrew the offer when they heard they would have to travel to Manhatten for conference games in October and November. No way could they go to New York to play a game, much less late in the Fall.

What exactly do BCS national championship games have to do with out of conference scheduling?

I'll hang up and listen.

you dont think that 4 "Gimme" wins per team in the conference doesnt have something to do with the collective rankings of teams within that conference?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to Sams post.

...and how many of those SEC teams played 6 road games or a real OOC schedule that year?

I may give myself a little project to go purge all your posts that have to do with road games and out of conference scheduling. I'm sure your nearly 2200 posts will trim to somewhere between 1-5 total making you a new shit troll instead of a chronic one.

Half the deal with granting extensions is assuring recruits you'll be there. It doesn't always mean job security. Prince doesn't have to have that good a season but I think he has to at-least make a bowl to keep his job.

Kansas State avoided big games for most Snyder's reign until the very end. It's nothing new for them and they have always lived by JUCOs.

I think Kansas St. would be wise to reconsider scheduling Montana St.

you wanna talk about records and rankings, Im going to bring up scheduling... a team that plays 8 home games is cheating the system and Im going to point out those grifters every time they puff out their chests
