Nice article.
Ashley Force beating her daddy is simply awesome as well.
That said, winning a 1/4 mile drag race doesn't quite compare to Danica's accomplishment.
Apples and Bowling Balls.

I don't consider Goobs to be a shit troll, and there's no such thing as bad traffic.
Deep down, Goobs is a motorhead. He's just too big a wuss to show it. C'mon Goob's... I know you gotta' be a closet Kenseth fan.

I was a big fan of Earnhardt, Sr. Also liked Bobby Allison and Cale Yarbrough back in the day. I like to see the Wisconsin boys do well but I’m not a big Kenseth fan, and was never a big Kulwiki fan either. I like Tony Stewart and the Busch the Younger is a ridiculously good driver.War Wagon wrote:I don't consider Goobs to be a shit troll, and there's no such thing as bad traffic.

Wasn't it Yarborough and the Allison brothers who got in a fist fight on the apron after the last lap at Daytona?
Old Skool.

The most important race in NASCAR history. First flag-to-flag TV coverage of the 500. Here’s a write-up on the race:War Wagon wrote:Wasn't it Yarborough and the Allison brothers who got in a fist fight on the apron after the last lap at Daytona?

This site has a couple of nice photos from the fight, as well a lot of other neat NASCAR shots:

Looked at the YouTube link, and of course once you start you can't stop and keep clicking on vid after vid.
So I pretty much relived every moment in 3's career... again. My favorite is after winning Daytona and every crew on pit road coming out to offer congrats. Still brings a lump to my throat.
Thanks for the links, Goobs.

Re: While Danica's 1st win WAS cool and historic for IRL....
From the mid 80s to the mid 90s, I used to regularly set my alarm clock Sunday mornings to get up and watch Formula One. It was then dominated by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. I was watching the morning that Senna bought the farm at Imola. Much like Earnhardt’s crash at Daytona, I didn’t think it looked that bad at first. Senna was the last driver filled in Grand Prix racing, BTW.
Wikipedia has a lengthy piece on Senna’s death:
