Is this why their recruit-class is filling-up so quickly?
Reminds me of that old line about steers and queers. Looks like business is picking-up on the queer-side.

Folks in Austin brag about it being so much like San Francisco. Maybe they are right.

I grew up in Austin, but I think this kind of thing is what drove me to move to the suburbs in Round Rock. But if you think about it, if so many fags are out cruisin cock, then wouldn't it mean less competition for the ladies?

Austin has a terrific music scene. Who'd want to leave that for the suburbs? Ponderous.

Round Rock does have outstanding schools though.
However, given the chance I would have to agree that I would also want to be in town. Somewhere along Shoal Creek and 45th would be nice.

Re: Any of you Tejas fans living in Austin?
Shoal Creek/ 45th is about 3 miles from my childhood home. Have to be rich to live there these days. I moved to Round Rock for the schools and proximity to my job and my wife's job. Plus in the late 90's, way more house could be bought in Round Rock than in Austin. While the music and bar scene was fun in my younger days, as a boring married man with children, Round Rock is heaven. I try not to venture into Austin unless I have to now a days. I like the whole vibe about the area, but most "nice" areas of Austin have gooten very expensive to live in and the traffic is pretty crappy. Weird thing is Austin is Travis County and Round Rock is Williamson County. My front yard and dwelling sit in Williamson and my back yard is Travis. If you know anything about the law enforcement culture of Williamson County you would know why any activites of questionable moral fortitude must take place in the back yard.

Whoa, not questioning your choices, just saying my choice would be in a different area. If I had kids I would put them in Westlake first then either CP or RR. Maybe even Dripping Springs, but who would want to be all the way out there?

Austin Bill used to say that all the time how so many Californians moved to Austin because it was so much like San Francisco. It's sad that I can remember him saying that like 6 years ago but it is true.Left Seater wrote:Really? I haven't heard people saying that. Re: Any of you Tejas fans living in Austin?
I guess I could see it, maybe. Hell, companies are relo-ing to Texas like crazy from both coasts. Not sure Austin is any different than Houston or Dallas in that regard, but it is much more liveable.

Re: Any of you Tejas fans living in Austin?
Austin is a great town. The music, the food, the vibe, the people.....everything about it, I love. If I could live there and have my job that I have, I would. Take the university out of it and it is still one of the coolest towns in the US.....and for christ sakes......being afraid of gays is crazy. Are you so insecure that you think every gay man wants to have sex with you???? Please. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they do not have taste. San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities on the world. So is San Diego. SF has more gays. SD has a ton of homeless people. So, by this logic, you are more likely to end up homeless than gay if you move to SD???

Uhhh, poor example. I think I would be homeless in SD.Harvdog wrote:So, by this logic, you are more likely to end up homeless than gay if you move to SD???
Here is the house of Lefty in Greatwood with the wife out front the day we closed.

For the same money in San Diego I could live here.

Pretty much homeless, don't you think? Amazing also how overvalued property is in SoCal.

Oh well, as I said, streming video is blocked from my office. I just googled for a link and got that one. Did a quick youtube. Here's a montage of brilliance.

About the 2 minute mark. Feel free to call me a mouth breather for thinking Zoolander is a kick as movie. You just can't laugh enough about freak gasoline fight accidents.
