Royals vs. Deadbirds
KC is gonna' smack your over achieving, pathetically weak NL squad back to reality starting now, bitches.
Too bad I haven't had time to properly warm up to this topic as of yet, but a few more Buds should do the trick.
Fuck St. Loser!
WAR the I-70 series!

you should change "pathetically weak" to "3rd best record in baseball".
We look forward to all the Picks and KC Pauls leaving our city in a couple days. Hopefully wih the river rising they'll manage a bath while here.

You play in the minor leagues. KC taking 2 of 3 from both the Triple A 1st place Marlins and D-backs out front shoulda' told ya'. Those fuckers match up well... with Omaha.Bizzarofelice wrote:you should change "pathetically weak" to "3rd best record in baseball".
The Royals would be a 1st place team in that pathetic league.

How'd that taste? You should be used to it by now.Bizzarofelice wrote:a closer pitches one inning, and it isn't necesarily against the opposing team's best hitters.
who gives a fat fuck about closers. the middle reliever who comes in to put out a fire the starter has begun is far more valuable.

FIrst things first......
FUCK ST. LOUIS! Tomorrow we finish off the sweep.
God damn the NL is fucking pathetic......again. Royals are 30-42 overall yet somehow 6-2 vs the NL.......all games on the road.....against teams with winning records.
Greinke vs Anthony Reyes tomorrow. That's a big advantage for KC.
We fucking suck donkey balls, but still own the NL! What else is new!!
Time to put to bed the stupid DeJesus vs Gathright debate. DeJesus = top of the lineup hitter for ANYONE. Gathright = worst hitter in the history of baseball not named Tony Pena Jr or Jason LaRue. I couldn't give a fuck if Gathright can jump over a car, a person, a skyscraper, whatever......dude is a pathetic excuse for a major league baseball player. He picked the wrong sport. Shoulda bulked up and been a slot receiver or even a RB. Maybe a strong safety. But baseball.......yeah, not a sport for him. Nice trade Dayton......JP Howell for a slot receiver. Howell = 5-0 with a low 3's ERA. Gathright = TPJ with speed.

Jon, you slay me...
But...
Gathwright is a hella' centerfielder. Two of ESPN's top five "web gems" last week alone. 15 stolen bases, caught twice.
YOU HAVE TO MAKE ROOM FOR THIS GUY IN YOUR LINEUP.
Besides that, Dejesus is a fag who gets lucky once in a awhile.
Oh, and care to STFU about Soria being a starter rather than a closer?
That's what I thought.

the tigers are above .500 and kc is 24-42 if the two never played each other. sayin'.TheJON wrote: God damn the NL is fucking pathetic......again. Royals are 30-42 overall yet somehow 6-2 vs the NL.......all games on the road.....against teams with winning records.
the nl is why i'm a bit nervous about this hot streak the tigers are on. they did split with the indians before sweeping the sox [which is great considering their divisional record], but sweeping the dodgers and two of three from the giants is, well, better than losing. the tigers are something like 32-9 against the nl the last couple of years. remove the nl from their schedule and they don't even make the playoffs in 06, let alone embarrass themselves in the world series.

total pwnage and state bragging rights. Royals pitching put the Cards bats to sleep.
Since interleague play began in 1997, that's the first time they've swept a 3 game road series in a NL city. Not to mention, that's the first time St. Loser has been swept all year.

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
War Wagon,
No, I'm still in disagreeance with the Royals on Soria and I think eventually he will switch. He's maybe the best reliever in all of baseball, but I think he could be one of the top starters in baseball and I'd rather have that. I said the same thing about Zack last year in the bullpen. He's meant to be a starter, Soria's meant to be a starter. They're both great relievers, but their top value is as a starter. I think this organization has a 2-3 guys that could eventually be solid closers not including Soria. So why not groom a Ramirez, Nunez, maybe Rosa as closer and put Soria in the rotation?
Look at his numbers. His numbers suggest he's got Ace talent. He rarely walks a batter, he rarely gives up a hit, he throws 4-5 very good pitches, he has great command.......that to me is the exact makeup of a top-notch starter.
I understand the importance of the closer role. We Royals fans know all about that. But we also know the importance of the starter. Like I said before, if you take Soria out of the bullpen we still have good arms in the pen. Put him in the rotation and next year you've got the best 1-2 combo in all of baseball with him and Greinke and then you'll have quality pitchers in Meche and Bannister (possibly also Hochevar although I'm not sold on him yet) behind him. Mahay, Nunez, Ramirez, and Rosa in the bullpen along with possibly a free-agent lefty signing (I've seen enough of Himmy Hobble) and our bullpen should be pretty good especially considering we'll have a rotation that should be able to go long innings consistently.
What would you rather have?
Joakim Soria winning 18-20 games with a 2.75 ERA or saving 40 games with a 1.9 ERA? Personally, I'll take the former. Just my opinion. Besides, I have a feeling Joakim is going to be in the rotation eventually anyways. Just have a gut feeling on that.

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
One more thing Wagon....
What is up with your hatred for DeJesus? Okay, so the guy comes off as a tad bit fruity! But dude can play. He gets lucky once in a while? Come on now.....he's a career .290 hitter and most of his hits are solid hits. David Eckstein gets lucky once in a while......okay, actually David Eckstein gets lucky EVERY single time he gets a hit. But not DDJ.
DDJ gets solid hits. He's turned his doubles into HR's this year. Granted, the guy is one of the worst baserunners I've ever seen but overall he is a damn good ballplayer and the most consistent hitter on this team. For the money we're paying him, he is an absolute steal. I think he'll be a .290-.300 hitter with 12-15 HR's and 70RBI's for the next 5+ years in this league and he always gives us quality defense. For $2.5 million per year, that's a steal.
Dude's the most underappreciated player I've ever seen in KC. He's about the only player to come up through our system from about 2000-2006 that has actually turned into a solid big leaguer.
He could start for any team in baseball. Other than Guillen, he's the only hitter we've got that you can say that for.

I'll relent on the DeJesus fag bashing, but not on Soria as the closer.

I don't know about you, but there's a lot teams out there with OFs that have a fairly decent average with no pop (8 HR) and no speed (6 SB? that's pretty good... for a catcher.)TheJON wrote: I think he'll be a .290-.300 hitter with 12-15 HR's and 70RBI's.

Wow, congrats to this idiot for worst take ever! Holy cow you're fucking dumb.
No power? 8 HR's for a LEADOFF hitter = no power? And 37 RBI's with an average over .300 and an OBP over .360 but he's a 4th or 5th OFer?? Clearly you've never watched baseball. Might I also add that DDJ missed about 15 games with injury early this year.
My goodness you're dumb. I almost feel bad ripping on you since you're clearly so fucking messed up. Wow, just wow!

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
Two things, chooch.
Number one, I also said DeJesus had no speed. Dude is slow. You with me? Just because he's batting leadoff doesn't mean he should be. He should be batting two or three for your AAA squad (or back-up OF in an actual major league line-up) however, the rest of the team sucks so bad he's forced to lead off. He may have the lowest "season high" for stolen bases by "lead-off hitters" in the history of baseball.
Number two, I am fairly certain the phrase "where people go to end their careers" relates to a choice. How many of those douches you named actually signed with KC as a free agent? No player has ever come off a great season and says, "Shit... this epic Triple Crown season means I am on my way to Kansas freakin' City." No one goes there. They may start their career there, but no one goes there, unless they're out of options. Shall I draw you a picture?

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
Fuck you douche. How many of us Royals fans are on here bragging about our team? War Wagon? Nope. Me? Nope. RevLimiter? Nope. SunCoast Sooner? Nope.
You running your fucking mouth about how bad we suck is your arrogant fairweather talking. So fuck you. WE KNOW WE SUCK. WE KNOW OUR PLAYERS SUCK. WE KNOW WE HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING FREE AGENTS TO SIGN IN KC. You're not telling us anything we don't know.
But we love our team and don't front run. Let me guess, dickface......you're a Yankee or Red Sox fan. Just a hunch I have here.
DeJesus is slow? Noooooo way!! Gee, twat, I had no freakin' idea. Who gives a fuck if he's slow? That doesn't mean he's not a heck of a ballplayer. Albert Pujols is slower, so I assume he's the worst player ever??????
David is a good leadoff hitter. Yes, I know he's better suited for the 2 hole and he's only there because we have no other leadoff options. Why must you simply state the obvious? The whole fucking city of KC knows this. Epic take. Go fuck yourself.
As for free agents, yeah we have problems getting them to KC and have to pay more for a player to come here but we're trying to change that culture. Slowly we're getting more players to come to and look at KC as a place to play. It takes some time. I got news for you dipshit, but we have been in on quite a few high priced FA's the last couple years. Fortunately, we did not land Torii Hunter and Andruw Jones......2 of the most overrated players in the game. But we were very close to getting them. I know, dickhead, close doesn't win games. But like I said, it's a start.

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
Chill, Jon.
Royals fans should expect to get grief from others. Nothing anybody could say would bother me more than watching this team blow a lead the way we've seen lately.
Nobody could be more critical either, so take those jabs with a grain of salt. I'd rather have fans of "real" MLB teams taking backhanded swipes, however unfair or inaccurate, than completely ignoring their existence.
I just like watching my hometown team play baseball day in and day out all season. Sure, I want to win and make the playoffs, but since that's not likely, I'll just enjoy each game for what it is, not really caring how many games out of 1st place we are.
But you know what? I can see this team being very competitive for a playoff spot next year or the following. Let's hope we sneak up on 'em and shock the baseball world.

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
Tampa Bay has drafted one through four since its inception and managed to get some good picks. Also, they've unloaded the thug tards on other teams(Washington mostly) for decent players. KC hasn't been able to parlay their good draft ranks into a decent team. Is it because KC is a midwest cowtown ('sup Jeffrey Leonard) or because they don't do as well with their farm system? I don't know. I just can't fathom a franchise that has had so little hope for so long.War Wagon wrote:Let's hope we draft better and can get a good team together before it bolts for free agency.
Like the Cubs, I want to see the Royals pull it together once in a while. Poor northsiders have had nothing more than Old Style, Harry Caray and a park that smells of piss to cheer for over one hundred years. The rivalry would be more intense and less "platonic" if they led the division more than once every other decade. Royals have a shallow history, one hall of famer and a genial fanbase supporting them. That can only go so far.
The Cubs rivalry is real for Cardinalfan, but MLB is pushing this KC-STL rivalry pretty hard and we should make the most of it.

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
Well, those pathetic Royals are now 10-3 vs the National League. Maybe it's not the Royals who suck. Maybe it's the entire NL. This is our 3rd straight season with a winning record over the NL and I believe that makes us 32-18 in the last 50 interleague games.
NL = AAAA
NL = AAAA

I don't think "front-running" means what you think it means.

Re: Royals vs. Deadbirds
If there's going to be some NL bashing by fans the most embarrassingly awful franchise in all baseball, you may take a closer look at the person you're attempting to smack. St Louis was the last NL World Series winning team, has the 2nd best record in the league, and is doing it with a bunch of dudes no one ever heard of. This team was picked to finish Kansaaas City Royaaals last in their division by most baseball "insiders" and is holding their own without the best player in baseball (not to mention Carpenter, Mulder, and most recently, Wainwright AND Wellenmeyer.) That's 4/5 of their starting rotation, you fucking cunts. Furthermore, they would make the playoffs if the season ended today. You?

Unfortunately for St. Loser, the season doesn't end today, and Milwaukee is going to blow past them in the standings before long.ucantdoitdoggieSTyle2 wrote:...they would make the playoffs if the season ended today.
Not that it matters. This is the NL we're talking about. Being the wildcard in that league is akin to finishing 2nd in the Special Olympics.
Give 'em their "I Tried" trophy already.

An average of 67 wins since the AL Central was formed and well on their way to their 5th straight last place finish says… what?War Wagon wrote:Not that it matters. This is the NL we're talking about. Being the wildcard in that league is akin to finishing 2nd in the Special Olympics.

I wasn't even referring to the Royals or the AL Central, but since you mention it... actually, they're well on their way out of the cellar.
1/2 game behind the Twinkies and only 8 back overall. Lot's of games left to be played.
Regardless, being a fan of a last place team doesn't preclude one from talking trash against the minor league they're currently 11-3 against. That just happens to be the best inter-league record in MLB, in case you hadn't noticed.
