Re: JON, what are we to expect from IOWA this year?
I can't remember. I forgot all about the game right about the time I was running on the field at the Metrodome helping hold up our Big-10 Trophy after we finished the season 11-1 and perfect in conference play.
Doesn't it kinda suck Minorthreat that the only bragging rights your program's ever had is some wins over Iowa in the last decade? Honestly, doesn't that kinda piss you off? All smack aside......doesn't just beating Iowa get old? For real......aren't you kinda tired of it and wanting more? Like maybe a Big-12 title, or even a Cotton Bowl appearance?
Running smack for beating Iowa and 75 cents will buy you a USA Today.
Florida Bowl games > Win over ISU
Just sayin'.....

You are right. Beating Iowa is getting old. Hell, I've come to expect it nowadays.
You jumped past the normal Hawk excuse of "The reason ISU won is because it's their Super Bowl". Please go back and edit it for me.

They let you hold the trophy? What position did you play?TheJON wrote:I can't remember. I forgot all about the game right about the time I was running on the field at the Metrodome helping hold up our Big-10 Trophy after we finished the season 11-1 and perfect in conference play.

It was actually the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy not the Big-10 trophy. I'm not sure if the Big-10 Trophy was on the field after the game or not.....I can't remember.
I love how ISU fan says how they now "expect" to win. Cracks me up. ISU barely beats us when they do. ISU fans forget that Iowa has actually won 3 of the last 5. Yes, the Clones have won 7 of 10, but it's funny how you guys all get to decide what period of time you can run smack on. Iowa fan used to use the 15 in a row, but ISU fan claimed we're living in the past. Now Iowa fan either runs 3 out of 5 smack or 18 out of 25, but again it's us living in the past. But ISU runs 7 out of 10 smack and it's okay. So when Iowa wins this year, do you guys still have bragging rights for 7 of 11? Or can we play the 4 out of 6 card? I'm confused. You know you're not coming into Kinnick and winning. Sure, we'll play our worst game of the year but we'll win something like 17-10. ISU will have the ball with 2 minutes to go and not be able to drive it past midfield. It's almost too easy to predict.

Oh, and as for the "Super Bowl" comment.....
Come on Minor, you know damn well that's a big part of it. I'll give the Clones some credit, they always play a damn fine game against us. But that's not even an Iowa fan excuse anymore.....I see a lot of Clone fans and media members say that now. It's pretty much common knowledge that this game means more to one side and this game means more than any to that same one side. Don't tell me you haven't figured this out by now......

It may have been with McCarney as coach, but I'm guessing Chizik looks at it like any other game. Only it's one in his early rebuilding process that's easily winnable.
ISU titty fucks Iowa in the ass cheeks at Kinnick this year.

A good old fashioned ass cheek titty fucking at Kinnick by the Cyclones, ey?
No way.......I guarantee you the Hawks bend "I-State" over a dishwasher and anally rape (oops, bad choice of words!)....
Scratch that.....
Come the 3rd week of September at Kinnick the Clowns are gonna take the biggest buttfucking this state has seen since "guys night out" became popular on the ISU campus.

is it after beating IOWA STATE! that ferentz points out that all those arrests and rape cover-ups were worth it?

Re: JON, what are we to expect from IOWA this year?
It's I-State not Iowa State anymore. Their AD changed the name. Not only is he changing the name, he's pretty much offering blowjobs (errr Applebee's) to anyone that buys a ticket to a game.
If you love Applebee's and College football than go buy yourself a 3-game package for $99 and you'll get a $20 gift certificate to Applebee's. Perhaps the lamest promotion since ISU's AD offered free tickets to anyone with a ticket stub to the previous game a cople years ago.
$99 for 3 games......and $20 in grub to Applebee's?? Makes me kinda jealous in a way after I spent about $1,300 for 3 season tickets (7 games) to Iowa football.
I thought farming was a good business in Iowa right now due to the increased use of Ethanol, so I'd expect Clone fans to have a few extra bucks for football tickets. I guess not.

Re: JON, what are we to expect from IOWA this year?
i'd like to disparage the marketing ploys of middling bcs programs, but i'm a michigan fan, so i have to leave it alone. imagine what don canham could have built at michigan were applebees to have existed in the late 60s.
Re: JON, what are we to expect from IOWA this year?
is it because of the blowjob or because of applebees?

Re: JON, what are we to expect from IOWA this year?
It is not I-State. The uniforms changed but not the name, dolt. Ticket sales are down but I'm not worried too much. One less home game, no Texas or Oklahoma, gas prices, flooding, losing season, are all probable reasons for that. Aren't they also down in Iowa City?TheJON wrote:It's I-State not Iowa State anymore. $1300 for 3 tickets to 7 games to watch them go .500.....nice work.
Farming has been pretty good this year, I'm guessing. Not quit as good as being a lawyer in Iowa City though.

Re: JON, what are we to expect from IOWA this year?
Iowa season tickets are down about 1,000 last I heard. I think 54,000 have been sold. We'll sell out probably every game regardless I'm sure.
