Pick a surprise team in each conference.......

Post by Snake »

By this I mean a team that is expected to come in 3rd or there after......

SEC Ole Miss, Snead, the kid Davis at RB, a nice mix of JC guys and a defense that returns 9....

ACC Florida St., 3rd year QB, veteran in Smith running the ball and 8 returning starters on D...

PAC 10 Washington, I'm a big Jake Locker guy...They will have a decent defense "Pac 10 standards"...Ty is coaching for his job......

Big East Connecticut, yea, they got a few breaks last year but....Returning QB+8 others on offense and 8 on defense...Edsell!!!

Big 12 Oklahoma St. I really like Zac Robinson. Player with legs and an arm. Nice mix of JC's comming in and Gundy can coach an offense....

Big 10 Purdue not the sexy pick but Joe T. is leaving and Painter is or better than every QB in the nation. Purdue's motto this year and every year, "we have got to score alot of points"....

MWC Air Force...I served.....

Conference USA Marshall soft spot after the crash...

WAC Hawaii

MAC Akron, attended and still follow. +1 Kent St. watch out, they will score some points

Sun Belt Florida Atlantic...wait, they're the best team in the league...that pretty much sumes up the Sun............

Heisman Long, Long shot.............Eugene Jarvis, Kent State, over 2000yds total offense and 10 TDS...Go Flashes..........

What an unfair thread for Notre Dame fans. Not only do they suck every year but because of their arrogance and greed they're never even an option for lists like this.

Don't worry Terry and Killian, I'm sure another 5-star QB with frosted tips will commit within the hour. Too bad he'll suck, but that's not the point.

The funny thing is JON, we don't want to be a part of lists like this. Woohoo!!!! A conference title!! Great!! No one gives a fuck unless you are a mid tier program.

And you sure do have a lot of basis to say that ND's QB's suck. Maybe they should shoot for midgets from Texas who are best known for throwing temper tantrums on the field.

1.Our former midget from Texas that threw temper tantrums is 10x the QB Clausen will ever be.

2.At least Drew didn't have frosted tips.

3.Conference titles are for mid tier programs?? Ahahahahaha! That's nuts. Then what exactly makes someone a "top" tier program? Winning a national title? If that's the case nobody would be a top tier program since no one wins one more than once every 12-15 years.

Quit saying you don't want in a conference. That's just arrogance. Get with the program and join the fucking Big-10 or Big East already. If you're going to be arrogant at least win for crying out loud. Since 1993 your program has won 10 games twice (never more than 10), finished .500 or below 5 times, and not lost less than 3 games in any year. Hell, I'll go even further back. Yes, you were good for 5-6 years from the late 80's to the early 90's, but the better part of the 80's even you were pretty mediocre. But you're still too good to join a conference. Afterall, you're competing for national titles every year, right??? Dude, you've become a basketball school. Your basketball program is in a conference. Now it's time for your football program to join one.

Tate will be "10x the QB Clausen will ever be"? Bwhaaaahaha. I'm not laughing because I think Clausen will become a much better QB than Tate (which I think he will), but because you have no idea how Clausen will turn out. The kid performed very well last year despite not having a legitimate threat at WR, RB and the OL was fucking awful. Add into it he was undersized and coming off of elbow surgery. And yet he had a freshman season that was very similar to Matt Stafford.

Ask players or coaches from USC, Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, OSU, etc. if their main goal for the season is a conference championship. If they get it, that's great, but they want something more.

I've stated numerous times that since 1993, ND has been in one of their downward cycles (look at their history, they've never been very consistant. It has extreme peaks and valleys). Yet during their downward cycle, how have they compared to Iowa?

I'll tell you what JON, you make your case as to why ND should join a conference. Lay it all out as to how it would benefit the football program to join any conference. Penn State, Miami, Florida State, etc. didn't join a conference because they wanted a shot at conference titles, their hand was forced. So tell me why ND should join any conference and how it would benefit them.

Yes, they want something more, but their path to that goal is greatly enhanced by winning their Conference. Yes, I know that teams have played for the National Title under the current system without winning their league, but that is easily remedied if the BCS just puts that stipulation in the process.

that's a pretty poor argument. it's pretty cool that i'm successful at work, but my main goal is to win the lottery.

I think an apt analogy would be that a National Championship is reaching a supervisor position, while a conference championship is reaching an assistant supervisor position.
