Big Week for the Big Ten

Post by BlindRef »

The Big Ten has a pretty tough out of conference schedule this week, here is how I see things going.

Iowa St at Iowa (Iowa wins, but its closer than it should be)
FAU at MSU (MSU wins another scare)
Montana State at Minnesota (Gophers go 3-0)
So Ill at Northwestern (NW wins...maybe)
PSU at Syracuse (PSU wins BIG)
Oregon at Purdue (Oregon wins)
Wisky at Fresno (Wisky wins)
OSU at USC (USC wins big)
LA Laf at Illinios (Ill should win)
Michigan at Notre Dame (Michigan wins 2-0)
Those who stay will be champions.

What was the other scare?

Also, N'western is a pretty decent team. I can't see them struggling at home to So. Illinois.

As a PSU fan, I'm going to enjoy seeing the road unis in an OOC matchup. I think those are going to be few and far between going forward.

Sparty should have plenty of motivation after good ole Schnellenberger said that FAU would score a lot of points in this game.

Say what?!?!
Well, we all suck so the games are tough to our teams. To you, I-State sucks donkey balls. But when they play Iowa, they play out of their minds. So that's a tough game.

Notre Dame is a tough game for Michigan because Michigan sucks. Montana State is a tough game for Minnesota because the Goofers are coached by Tim Brewster.

Plus, Ohio State faces USC and Purdue faces Oregon.

Make sense?

Did SECBSH just question the difficulty of ANOTHER CONFERENCE'S OOC?

Nuh-uh...

That didn't just happen...

So what did I do to deserve the absolutely gut-busting laughter I'm experiencing right now?

mine could actually happen.

There's only one 1-AA team on that list, so it's not like there's any possibility that would ever be a SEC OOC slate.

Where is this 'Montana' place? That's a county in Georgia, right? And they're 1-AA, right? Get their AD on the phone, PRONTO!!!! Miht be time for our once-per-decade road game.

I believe FAU's kickoff returner said quote, "We're going to light them up."

well, his coach is probably lit by game-time so he may know what he's talking about.

Things are a mess in East Lansing. The wet conditions caused about 10 fumbled snaps in the first half alone. Neither qb can do a damn thing in the air. MSU probably won't cover the spread, but I'll just be happy with a W at this point...

The two teams are a combined 8 for 35 passing? Nice.

17-0 now. That might as well be a 50 point lead with the way FAU is playing on offense. Ringer now leading all RBs in the country in TDs.

I'd be interested to see a breakdown on the average margin of victory for BCS teams these days, as opposed to several years ago. It seems the little guys are closing the gap a bit more, at least to the extent that 50 point blowouts aren't the norm anymore. There's no question that talent is becoming more abundant, and not just exclusive to the elite anymore.
