Javon Ringer's future replacement

Post by MgoBlue-LightSpecial »

MSU fans were pretty excited to land this guy, Edwin Baker. He was highly sought after. The coaches are saying he might be even stronger than Javon and Javon is one of, if not the best weight lifter on the team - and this kid is still in high school.

Finally, some competent coaches and solid recruiting classes. Things are finally looking up in Spartan Land.

This is not a surprise to any Buckeye fan. Dantonio is gonna have MSU competing for league titles very soon. Ever since dude left Columbus, tOSU's silver bullet defense has been non-existent. We want him back dammit.

MSU fan, any word on the Nichol kid who t-ferred back to Sparty from OU? seemed like a good kid with a nice arm, mobility. with this Baker kid and Nichol w/ 3 years left seems like a good start at future skill positions.

Nichol will compete with Kirk Cousins next year for the starting job. If you ask the MSU fanbase real close to the program about 50% will say Nichol is the guy, and the other half will say Cousins. Personally, I suspect Cousins might get the starting job, but still way too early to say for sure.

There's a chance Nichol will never be the starter because next year MSU brings in an elite 11 qb, Andrew Maxwell, who, if is as good as advertised, could be the starter his sophomore year.

Big 10 is rounding up a nice core group of coaches in Dantonio, Bielema, Tressel, Rodriguez and Brewster. Paterno can still coach apparently. Just need to upgrade the coaching at Iowa and Illinois and we’ll be looking at Meatgrinder 2.0.

Brewster is an intense guy. I could see him turning that program around...hell, they couldn't do any worse.

Great recruiter, average-to-decent coach. When Minny moves into that new stadium next season, they will be more competitive.

If the Gophers would at least acknowledge the defensive side of the ball, then they would have a chance to be competitive in the Big Ten. Hopefully, Brewster realizes that there is more to a football team than offense, unlike Glen Mason. I must admit, I did enjoy some of their late game defensive meltdowns though.

State has always had very tough running backs...looks like he fits that mold. Ringer is probably the best one I've seen in green and white since I've following college football. Their big downfall has been shaky QB play and the defense will let them down. They've had talent at running back and certainly at receiver as well. It's also been a habitual thing that they have late season fades. We'll find out of Dantonio shakes them out of their bad habits and they take the next step and join the Big Ten elite.

Joe can coach because he's been coaching less. That's about the closest I can get to it in one sentence.
